Who uses a remote tire carrier for those larger tires?

Many of us have switched up to a larger tire than what will fit in the factory spare tire location. So, what are you doing to keep a spare tire with you when traveling/off road. I don't have the option of carrying my spare in the bed, thus the reason I am looking at options. Like below,

I'm running Mickey Thompson 265/70/17's and the spare fits fine underneath for my Lariat, but I've always liked this setup in the bed for spares.

works great and looks fabulous. Getting the 35" tire up to mount it is a chore because the tire / wheel is heavy.

I have two spares, one for the truck and one for the trailer.

Nice bumper! That is something I would like, a swing out tire mount, for my Rough Country bumper.

Any chance of seeing pics of your set up on your Ranger?

While I run a 285/70/17 and it fits in the stock location, if you are going with a larger tire, give Rigid Armor a look.

They did not seem to have the Ranger listed but he can custom make it. He custom made one for my Honda Pilot after I gave him some easy to do measurements.

I have a 285/75R17 (34") on a method wheel in the stock location. Fits no problem.

I have the factory hitch, which is why it works. From what I understand if you have a aftermarket hitch , you will have issues fitting a large tire underneath.

I have a 295 70R17 and seat on the bed, it doesn't fit on the spare tire location since it's to close to the exhaust. I just use a strap to hold it down
