Well I guess they're not technically Darwin Award products since they don't kill you.

They just kinda make you want to kill yourself ?

Here's a Darwin Award if I ever did see one.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-dies-placing-lit-firework-174721758.html

Man dies after placing lit firework on his head during Fourth of July party

The coroner later said the victim, 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew, had ignited a large firework on top of his head. Witnesses told investigators he was wearing a large top hat, and put the firework on top of the hat before lighting it. The device exploded, causing “massive head injuries.”

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the victim’s wife told deputies she believed he placed the firework on his head to “show off” at the block party. Family members tried to get him to stop, but the firework went off, and McGrew collapsed.

I hope this story isn't true, but if it is.....Dang!
I was born in the Low Country of South Carolina. Seen stuff like this all my life. My nephew (19 at the time) got to drinking on the 4th about 15-20 years ago, and did something similar. Once fully alcohol imbibed, he and his buddies decided to make his @ss a launchpad for a rather large firework. He dropped his drawers and they placed the stick between his cheeks and lit it up!

It didn't go well.

Seems the heat generated an impulse to run and the firework stayed tightly clenched between his butt cheeks. His buddies were drunk as well and laughed their @sses off and then posted the video online, where I came across it.

I called home to my mother, who told me the details.

He didn't go to the hospital, but went home to bed. Woke up in shock with extreme shakes. His mother (my sister) found him and began getting to the truth. They got him to the hospital. 2nd and 3rd degree burns on both @ss cheeks. He related how painful it was to have the nurses scrub the burned flesh off his @ss several times over the next week.

He still plays with fireworks, but his drinking days are over.

I kid you not ... this is a true story!

We need to stay politics free here. If you feel as you do, get out there and promote your ideas and bring 10 others with you to vote. Democracy demands the free exchange of ideas to be successful AND the willingness of people to engage freely when it is time to participate.
