I've accessorized a wee bit, but have not actually modified my truck in any way. So far it all works as it's supposed to, and so I'm not buying specialty tools to do things with that I'm really not aiming to do.

3 years/80,500 miles, day before a hurricane... It died. Lol.

Went to remote start it this morning and nothing happened. I knew what I was in for at that moment. Jumped it and drove it to my Dr appointment and in the office I sent a chat message to AAA. They came to me and replaced the battery, in the rain, for $266 plus 3% for using my card. So $270 otd. Beats going to the parts store and paying $280.


The app never sent me a notification that my battery was bad/low and the battery light on the dash never came on. It never came on after the battery swap. So I'm assuming I don't have to reset the bms.

Overall I'm happy with how long it lasted. With my work I'm turning it on and off multiple times a day. Mix of short and long trips. I am tuned so the stop/start is not active.

I live in South Louisiana, every vehicle I've had, the battery lasts about 3 years. The summers here can be pretty rough.

The battery in our 2021 honda pilot, that we bought a few months before the ranger, went out last week.

Got mine for $126. , excellent battery and no core so redeployed the oem battery . Also heard that a weize battery prevents premature tranny failure .

It is the lariat variant bought over a year back on an Amazon prime day deal , another gent on here iirc got the same deal.china based company but labeled as made in Germany, I recently bought new tires but in searching was tempted to give Chinese brands a try, reportedly several Chinese makes are high quality tires, the price point is attractive. Not sure what the future brings though with Chinese made products and increasing us trade protectionism. I have 2 Chinese made tv and they are very good.

Wondering what's a decent affordable battery tester? I see airline tech has the topdon. Amazon has the topdon 100 for under $50, or are there any others that members would recommend?

I opted for the Clore for no real reason I guess. It works fine. Just make sure it displays internal resistance (IR).

Does anyone know who is the real manufacturer of this battery. Weize looks like a distributor with a private label. Companies like East Penn (Deka) make excellent US made product that lasts.
