Hi all, first post here.

I purchased a Ford Ranger Tremor XLT a few months ago, and i'm already looking into getting a full suspension lift for it. The two that I have been looking at are a Rough Country 6" and a BDS 6".

The issue, is that i've contacted both of the manufacturers of the lift kits and they state that they haven't 'tested' their lift kits on the Tremor version of the Ranger. I'm thinking that it'll fit, as to my knowledge there isn't any huge modifications to the Tremor that wouldn't make it fit.

Another side question that I am wondering is; RC offers a Lifted N3 Struts. I already have an upgraded version of the struts that come with the Tremor, so i'm not too sure I need these.

Of course, if something doesn't fit I can always just return the entire product; just looking for some guidance if anyone has done this or knows more about the topic than me. :like:

Here is an option. Rocky Ridge and Black Widow both have 6" lifts. Contact them and see if you can find out what they use. I saw a Rocky Ridge up close, really checked it out and it was a complete change. Just a thought.

I searched for the same thing a few months back for my 23 tremor. BDS offers a 6inch coilover lift that works and was confirmed by them via email, not sure about the 6inch lifts from RC and BDS that just use spacers though. I ended up just doing the 2 inch FRL level in the front and a 1inch block in the back for now, with plans to get the coilover kit in a year or two, since the temor package has a solid suspension to use in the meantime.

If you confirm the RC and BDS strut spacer kits work for tremors, I would pick BDS even if it is a little pricier, RC is known to have bad welds and lower quality(just my opinion). Otherwise I would save up for the coilover lift kit that is closer to 4k versus the $1500 from the other two.

This is the BDS coilover kit:

Awesome. Its a little bit pricey for sure; but I was also comparing BDS vs. RC quality and thought that BDS was more reputable. I also appreciate their warranty better than RC's.

I'll most likely be getting the BDS 6" Coilover during their black friday sale, thank you for the information!

I don't think ride quality would really be much different between the two compared to stock. It's still using stock suspension components unless you go with the coilover system that uses fox 2.5 it looks like. Personally, I'm a little suspect of any 6" lift quality since the vast majority are just oversized spacers and lift blocks. That being said, I would still avoid RC if there was another option.

Confirmed by BDS that the 6" COILOVER Lift fits. However, the spacer 6" lift from BDS and RC does NOT!

Still saving up $$$ fun coupons to hit the $3,400 price-tag; and that's with a military discount!

Problem is for us Tremor folks is that the only thing that fits is the 2.5 FOX Coilovers. We've got FOX 2.0's up front and the spacer mods don't fit em. Unless you stack spacers... which i've thought about doing.

Ouch! I know you want the 6" but for that kind of cash don't sleep on the Baja long travel! It's probably more expensive but it's a bad ass system and doesn't use brackets

Damn, I actually just looked that baja kit up. That's a unit right there. I'll save that for my financial mistake of a truck.

However, I only wanna go UP! I live in florida so i'll never get any baja/pre-runner action. :(
Tryn'a go for the rocky ridge setup and look. All I have left to do is a lift. Which at this point is necessary, i'm running 35's and am MAJORLY rubbing every piece of metal even after cutting out my crash bars.

What can I say; i'm 17 and want to have the biggest mini-truck out there.

Well, if that's the only part that won't work I think that's easy to overcome. I've worked with a local fab shop and their prices aren't all that bad.

Very true. Let me know if you do anything with that.
I'm trying to work with BDS and get something figured out. Possibly deleting some parts to make the kit a bit more affordable.

Rear shocks aren't needed because they supply 2.0's. We already have that. We even have the remote reservoir ones. That would subtract $300-400.

After that i'll use my military discount and looking at only $3,000. Probably $4,000 total if I got it installed at a local shop.

Did you see rough country also has a kit for under $1k?

I keep eyeballing it, without shocks, doesn't seem too prohibitively expensive that route.

My goal is to fit a 35" like the Colorado zr2 Bison or Bronco Sasquatch.

After 2 decades of mostly Ford vehicles the shine is really starting to wear but I'm still not ready to Just Empty Every Pocket.
