The major one likely being cost..
Moving away from aluminum you kinda open up to rust. (Obviously why they paint the steel ones.)
But also the steel ones probably can take a bit more of a beating and the additional weight likely doesn’t impact the mpg’s as much as they thought it would.. however, im not an engineer, also I’m slightly below average intelligence… a quiz on Facebook told me so.
Yeah my thought was the front axle bearings have more support with steel and the off-roading they may expect from the Tremor. Aluminum would dissipate heat slightly better but probably not enough to make a difference. Aluminum being lighter would be nice (unsprung weight reduction) but eh, probably can't feel it on a truck.

I just like the look of the aluminum knuckles lol but don't plan on swapping them or anything.

Rough Country gets a really bad wrap but it's really not that bad. The welds on the diff protector I got look like a Sunday job but it's functionally 100% serviceable. For a spacer system though, it's only a static piece of metal, who gives a hoot. If it's a solid piece of metal it'll work just fine.

Having seen the crossmembers provided by bds and RC (6” lift front CM’s) there is a very noticeable difference in fabrication… the favor going to bds..
Now if you’re on a strict budget, RC will work…
BDS is better made, clearly not indestructible, but seems to have a better chance of surviving a sketchy moment..
Also with BdS you get a guaranteed compatibility with the traction control and stability management features of the truck (yes I also know most of us probably turn all that junk off anyway..though it does highlight the extra effort in the R&D ((if any)) that one company did that the other did not.)
..
RC works likely just fine..
BDS has a bit of an extra edge in this fight..
Comes down to you kinda get what you pay for..
Save some money, but do be a little extra cautious..(be careful regardless obviously.) so you don’t cost yourself more money trying to save money..
Or on the side of that.. if you’re going to be doing crazy things.. you know you’ll be breaking things and you may want to go the less expensive route for cheaper replacements.. idk
Again this is personal opinion based on a personal observation.

Thanks everybody this helps so much. Last question, would the rc loaded struts fit the 21 tremor. Rc also says that they won’t

Pretty sure they just say that for the previous mention of legality issues since they have not put them on themselves to a tremor specific model.. coilovers that fit the Ranger 5 G will fit the Ranger 5g tremor..

This is the RC 6” lift crossmember from a Tacoma it cracked near the mount point.. i mentioned I’d provide a picture earlier (pretty sure it was this thread😅.)
I forgot to snap pictures of the BDS crossmemeber (my bad I brain farted on that.). But I’ll go under my truck in a bit to take as good of a photo as I can of the difference
