I have both a brand new Ford Racing grille (in the box) and a new Lariat Black Package grill (in the box) and I am getting no hits locally, but want to sell. I worry about shipping as the prices have skyrocketed. Some prices I have seen would have me basically give away the grilles if I paid for shipping, or if I tacked it on the price, the buyer would be better off ordering from a vendor and get free shipping.

So, if you have successfully sold a grille on here, what has been your experience?

FEDEX Ground Advantage shipping is best affordable rate.

Selling take-offs of any kind is tough. I hope you are successful. Sadly, they may simply end up as wall art in your garage. ☹ Best of luck with this. ?

This is why I haven't bought an exhaust. I was gonna get the Carven and if it's too loud for my taste just take it back off and sell it but shipping will kill me.

I just got charged $48 to ship 3 torque wrenches. Shits crazy. UPS just had some huge layoff too.

You just have to know what the box size and the weight is, all the shippers have online quoting, UPS, Fedex, USPS, you just punch in the address, weight and size, they will give you a instant quote.
Be sure to measure it properly, if it is even 1/8"-1/4" over the dimension you put in, they will bump it up to the next inch size larger and charge you.

Bulky items like a grille will be charged a cube weight instead of by weight. I ship big boxes with good of clubs and guitars by FEDEX Ground Advantage and get best rates.

Right you are Duke, I have a 2004 Ranger grill, wall art material! If I had a bumper and headlights, now that would be cool!?

I've been inside a FedEx facility during operations and have to say that packaging is pretty critical to items getting from point A to B unmolested.

They move tens of thousands of boxes at each stop both by hand and via massive conveyor systems and the potential for damage is common. They're going to be least expensive but it comes with risk, so insure your packages.

You’re right John - good packaging and insurance are important.

I worked at the FedEx airport location in Vancouver when I was in university. Loading cargo containers, loading aircraft, marshalling aircraft off the apron, fuelling the vans, etc. Lots of fun and always under a deadline.

God only knows what happened to the packages between the pickup point and the sort location or between the plane and the recipient.

Care was taken with most packages we handled in ”the sort” - flimsy items or those marked “FRAGILE” were saved for the top of the cargo can. If the trucks came in on time, it was steady but not rushed. Different story at Christmas or when trucks were late - complete chaos!

During the last 10 or 15 minutes before the cans had to be tugged out to the aircraft, we had to get the items in the cans and out of the building, no matter what.

I may or may not have been responsible for an insurance claim or two.

Ebay takes almost half what you make though. You get a bill the next month. Plus the buyer can return practically anything for any reason and the seller gets no say.

I sold a few items but nothing as big as a grill. I found the new Post Office Ground advantage was the best deal. It's not fast, about a week to the west coast from Ohio but it was half the price.

I have been using pirate ship lately
There is an actual discount shipping things. No idea how they do it.
Weigh and measure your stuff and plug in the numbers to get a price.
