Magent only had what I could tell was the clutch material. Yes, went with a Dorman pan just to gain the drain plug. Identical to the oem one. I'll cut the filter open probably tomorrow. Just trying to get it all back together at the moment.

There’s also PPE OR mishimoto just came out with one too. Get cooling fins and drain plug. Might be a little pricey but you get what you pay for

I used a 12V extraction pump before Fitzshtick...next time, I'll be doing this while standing...

I tried to use that pump to pull the hydraulic fluid from my Bendpak 2 post lift. It wouldn't lift it out the tank! I'll try it through the Fitz dipstick in a week or so. The 18 year old hydraulic hoses on the lift have all been replaced with new ones. My lift is back in working condition! Time to get back to work!

For filling a flexible funnel, or a smaller rigid funnel with a piece of hose, even one of those hand pumps will work.
Why do you suggest a hose? If you have a funnel that is small enough to sit inside the fitting - that’s good enough, right?

You need a little angle, either a funnel that can bend a little, or a short section of hose.

Wait for that decision. After starting on this thing yesterday at 10am and finishing at 6:30 you could imagine my pissed offness this morning when I found a puddle the size of a large pancake this morning. Dripping from the GD drain plug. Guess I’ll be tearing it back apart. Plug is tight.

I have not seen the inside of the other after market pans but my concern is with the amount of residual crap left in the bottom of the pan. It doesn't have a sunken area for the drain like an oil pan. So the process still leaves crap in bottom of pan. ?

You are correct in that aspect. I suspect it will leave as much as a 1/4” of fluid in the bottom After it drains. What found left over in my Oem pan was merely old fluid. All “extra” material was in tact with the magnet. There was not sludge or debry that I found. It’s certainly not the best pan solution and know with my most recent light of events I’m scorned with it but I’ll swap it out and see what the next one brings. I’d loved to had one of the nicer ones but budget wise just doesn’t allow that for me these days. Sadly I’m sure so many others are in a similar situation. Hoping the next one is fine or I’ll just put the Orem back on and just do a drain through the fitzstick with a pump..

This is the standard PPE pan it has a slightly lower area near drain plug to allow proper drainage. FYI

It looks like the mishimoto and ppe pans are well made. The mishimoto pan is $5 more on amazon. Is one better than the other?

EDIT: nevermind. I see that there is a thread dedicated to my question.

I think both have been mentioned price & leakage, but one could save money over the Dorman by finding a suitable drain plug & put it in the OE pan. Why spend the extra money for the Dorman & still have a leak.
