Just speaking for myself Mike....if you have to, just ship the stick the same way as you did with the entire assembly....attacked to a backing and then inside the box, and charge me for packaging/shipping.
I'm definitely not going to quibble over a few bucks extra, especially with all you have done.

Just thought of something....
Attach stick with some wire ties to a thin piece of wood, like the thin paint stirrers you get with a gallon of paint, but longer, or a piece of 1/2 inch wood dowel and slip it into the shipping tube....
Piece of 1 inch x 2 inch x 8 foot long furring strip is only $1.58 at Lowes, and you could get 2-3 shipping pieces from it....
I have shipped using the same box as the assembly, it's about $10-$12 more than the tube, I just have to get the stick itself a happy container.

The furring strips are 2" I would have to rip them down to fit in the tube and they are heavy wood, I'm trying for easy and light, I need to find schedule 80 1/2" PVC or switch to a different box.

This is an inexpensive solution. Would you leave the handle outside the tube? I have a feeling (knowing your work product) that you have already thought this through.

I just did a quick look and found 1.5" x 10' of schedule 40 for $12.78 at Lowes online, Buy 8 of them and get it for $10.25 each. You can get 3 tubes out of each section for just under $3.50

With 1.5" diameter tube you can protect the entire stick including the handle.

I am sure you are well ahead of my cogitating, but this seems to be a reasonable alternative.

I actually tried taking a Unibit to the schedule 40 PVC pipe to fit the stick inside the pipe, I think sch 80 PVC will fit the rubber seal without modification.

Triangle Shipping tubes?
Yes, I want to try that next, or square, round wont stack, so I'm guessing it spends most of it's time rolling around the back of the truck.

Mike, have you looked into USPS Ground Advantage? It is pretty much the same as USPS Priority Mail but considerably cheaper. Usually 1 day longer for delivery and comes with $100 free insurance and a tracking number.

I always used Priority Mail until this became available a few months ago.

I have had poor luck with USPS, but that is worth a try, especially now that I'm having poor luck with UPS, thanks!!

That is strange...the two times you've shipped to me by USPS came within 3 days and undamaged...

No, not you, most are fine, I have just lost stuff completely, or it never shows any tracking progress and then it's delivered.

I find USPS to be quite informal with delivery progress data that they post for the public. I actually called them on several occasions to check on a package that was, according to their tracking data, bouncing back and forth between to major metro areas, neither of which were the origination point or destination. They instructed me to ignore the data presented online from the USPS Portal as it was incorrect, and they then told me exactly the path and location of the package! I even rec'd photos of the package en-route!

I have had packages that arrive in 2-3 days from central NC to Western NY. I have also had packages that take 10 days to go from Raleigh, NC to Asheville, NC, a 4-5 hour ride by car.

IMHO, all shipping services are in a slow state of decay.

Don't get me started about shipping things overseas! I spent $160 to send a package to friends in a major metro area in Brazil. It cleared customs in both countries in 2 weeks. 3 months later it arrived back at my doorstep. No refund... no nothing. We held the package until the friends visited California, and sent it again, $25 and 10 days later they successfully rec'd the package.

Our shipping packages to friends overseas is now at an end.

As @Bsqrd was referring to the triangle tubes;

Not sure of the exact size you are looking for. Here is a link to Uline

https://www.uline.com/BL_3658/Triangle-Tubes

You can get a qty of 50 for around $73 plus shipping of these:

https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-1960/White-Mailing-Tubes/Triangle-Tubes-2-x-24-1-4

You can get a qty of 50 for around $87.50 plus shipping of these:

https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-1961/White-Mailing-Tubes/Triangle-Tubes-2-x-30-1-4

The more you get the cheaper they are. They ship flat so they're easy to store and once you fold them they should easily stack and won't roll around. You can also insert the round tube inside to help protect the sticks.

Mine is shipped, wire loom moved and A/C line moved. Ready to install when it arrives! Thanks for making this! I’ve been debating a stick since before I bought the truck, and was hopeful a factory like option would show up. Thnks Mike!

Later this year I’ll do a service and aftermarket pan.

Those are what I will probably try next, but I do have to get the 36" version?
