OK so that brings me back to my original ? some time ago, where is the demand for so many Ranger taillights?
I wonder that as well, as far as I know EBay , FB or Craigslist are the main places for them to sell.
Even if they sell them to a shady body shop, the body shop would have to have a Ranger in need of them.
I just don’t get it either.
Anyway , we know they are being sold / traded somewhere and then marked up for a profit.

Are they the same spec as ROW Rangers? If so there would be a sizable international market for them. Rest Of World Rangers number in the millions, dwarfing NA Ranger sales.

From what I read somewhere that the Ranger is the slowest selling vehicle. I still don't understand for the demand of stolen taillights unless most are shipped to some more under developed country's where drivers are not ass carefull.
I think the majority for the slow selling is because you can't sell what you aren't making - they cut production way back on Rangers to push out more Broncos.

But yeah, you wonder where the demand is coming from.

Guys, remember to be extra careful about thieves during the Holiday Season. Some years ago, in December, I suffered a "smash and grab" incident on a non-Ford vehicle at a state park. The officer who wrote it up told me such violations always take off in December because thieves are trying to make extra money for Christmas gifts for the family by selling stolen goods! I think the best Christmas gift a child could receive would be ... honest parents!
Town I grew up in is a real shithole. With an extremely high percentage of shitheads. So... as a young man, but old enough to drive, one of my "hobbies" around the holidays was to clean up dog poop in the yard, box it, wrap it for Xmas, drive over to the tiny ass mall, present clearly visible in the back seat, lock the car but leave the drivers window open enough for a coat hanger to easily enter (young guys on here just got lost wondering what the coat hanger is for)... you can guess the rest. Every single time, EVERY time the present was stolen. 100%. Sometimes I'd get to a store window quick enough to watch the dead beat. Other times I'd just time it and in 10 minutes or so go back to my car. Present. Was. Always. Gone. Asshats would just watch the parking lot and immediately check freshly parked cars. Did I mention the town was (and still is) a shithole?

Chuckling now just thinking about all the clowns that stole my shit.
My Dad used to laugh and tell me to be careful and not get my ass whipped over the prank.

When the news reports smash and grab and now crash and grab as well as other theft, they leave out the fact we all pay for this one way or another. Because of the OP's stolen tail lights and their high cost everyones insurance goes up. And, depending upon his insurance companies claim cost threshold, the OP's will go up the most.

The normal profit margin for retail is 6-9%, box stores less. If someone steals $1,000 worth of goods, just do the math IOT determine the value of goods that must be actually sold just to break even. To compensate, prices go up and given current inflation numbers, it's pretty easy to see the difficulty we are all experiencing ... and why businesses are closing in high-crime areas.

The OP's damaged Ranger is just part of a much larger problem, and fixing it will be difficult and time consuming.

Order parts or start calling junkyards or go online( many junk yards are online now and input parts into a clearing house. Take off tailgate and put a net up for looks. Go Rez... put some bulbs in and some clear red tape. lol!

For that price , they will be not work, w/o blind-spot, so no module and no place to mount it.
Non BLIS are cheap , it’s the BLIS lights that are high-priced
They may or may not come with the module itself but it has a mounting spot for it.
So when buying used , you must be attentive to detail in the description.

The thieves create the demand.
The steal the light.
Now you need a light.
So, cheaper to buy a stolen light.

It happens in the oil fields in foreign countries. Thieves will steal a $30K pump, then sell it back to the job for $300. And the company would rather pay the $300 than wait a month for the $30K replacement.
