damn that is a shame! sorry to see.
some people really are just a holes. dont know what part of texas your in but ass cheeks full of bird shot will prevent them from stealing again.. keep an eye on craigslist and facebook market place. in dfw area a wrecked 5g shows up about once a week and the parts still good are easy to get with a cash in hand offer.
You're too kind, I'd say #3 Buck would be a better alternative.

The irony is: stolen goods go for a fraction of their actual value.

Cartels were paying $7k for each Ford Raptor that was stolen by local crews here. I don't think you can get a stripped one new for under 65-70k

If it's a loaded model ?

So your insurance pays out the 85 grand on your note, or pays you back if you paid cash, and the people behind it all pick it up for a tenth of the price. Laughable.

So do the math, if the new kits are $1500 they're probably being sold for all of $150 bucks ? while your rates jump up for like the next five years
Black market prices vary, on ebay retailing for a pair with the BLIS module for $700-800 a pair, and new ones are +1000+ EACH.

The programming I'm told is simple and any respectable auto shop with Ford-licensed software can do it for you with the installation of new ones.

thieves need REAL consequences the whole "insurance will pay for it so its ok" attitude law enforcement / courts / politicians seem to have is absolute BS -- I hate thieves. work for things instead of stealing from those of us who do work for a living! -- sorry man, hope you can get it sorted out and back on the road. and hey ford, make more parts available

It's sad just how low and without remorse people that would do this are , we are Ranger owners , proud and happy but not generally in a financial position to deal with this level of time consuming thievery, also on Ford somewhat imo for being that outrageously overpriced... I hate this for you and hope Kharma can get the sleezebags involved...
Which ones-the thieves who stole the parts or the thieves who want four figures for two pieces of plastic?

well bird shot would rip up the flesh and disable them for a while, and could be deadly in some situations. 2k in property damage in trade of 2 weeks in the hospital getting #9 pellets removed from the hind quarters seems about fair lol . I dont wanna kill anyone, esp not for theft lol. they steal something from my truck parked on the street i call the cops and let them do the job they get paid to do, maybe pepper the bad guys with bird shot to let them know im going to protect my loved ones and they better scram . if a creep crosses any line that is inside my home or near a loved one i will not be so generous or forgiving.

Why did my tailgate alarm not go off? Or does the tailgate not set the alarm off like the other doors? There are no electronic sensors but there is a wire going to the camera and it does click-lock with the remote so it should be alarmed right?

The Perimeter Alarm is activated on any door or switch that has a Door Ajar input.
So, all passenger doors and the hood, the tailgate does not have that input.
It does however have the Remote Lock / Unlock and depending on trim and year may or may not have the key tumbler on it. My 22 Lariat does not have the Key Tumbler, so the only way to unlock is via FOB, of course still vulnerable to thieves - Prying it open.

I wonder how much it would take to incorporate a door ajar switch in the tailgate handle and intergrade it into the OE Perimeter Alarm system.
I am quite sure an aftermarket alarm for just the tailgate would not be that much of an undertaking.
(HMM), this would at least deter from them getting the lights but the damage to the tailgate itself would already be done and the rotation of the locking rods will be the trigger.

Guys, remember to be extra careful about thieves during the Holiday Season. Some years ago, in December, I suffered a "smash and grab" incident on a non-Ford vehicle at a state park. The officer who wrote it up told me such violations always take off in December because thieves are trying to make extra money for Christmas gifts for the family by selling stolen goods! I think the best Christmas gift a child could receive would be ... honest parents!

From what I read somewhere that the Ranger is the slowest selling vehicle. I still don't understand for the demand of stolen taillights unless most are shipped to some more under developed country's where drivers are not ass carefull.

Our taillights will not fit ROW Rangers. And they do not have BLIS.
