If I raise my front end to level the truck using a spacer as oposed to a new spring and strut does ride qualityget affected?

Thanks.

That’s a loaded, or possibly a pre-loaded question George. ;)

It won’t make a difference to a degree that the average person would notice - something about overall travel or droop that is affected by spacers. Ride quality will be essentially the same.

Those folks looking to simply level the truck, who are fine with the truck’s ride, are happy with using a spacer kit to get the look they’re after. Those folks who are active off road enthusiasts, would likely prefer to go with an upgraded levelling coilover.

I think @Frenchy posted the proper explanation on this - Chris?

No. 2.5" is common but I think it makes the truck a little nose-high. I got the Truxxx 1.5" kit, ride unchanged and looks level to me. www.truxxx.com

Hey George, I have the Ready Lift 3" Leveling Kit (front only) on mine. Being an "average guy"; in my opinion, the ride quality was markedly improved. I also installed Bilstein 5100's in the rear. I am 4+ years with truck and love the ride! Even my Wife approves! As far as the stance.... I think it sits nice and level. Cheers!

Not sure how stock shocks can handle it, but my Eibachs were adjustable from 0 to 3" up front. I chose 1.5" and am very happy with the improved ride over the bouncy stock shocks, and how it looks.

About 40k miles on my truck with spacers and no issues. Closer to 100k on my previous truck with a similar setup and no issues there either. About 1/2 of my truck driving is moderate off-road and no complaints with the way it handles here.

Spacers, if made correctly, should have zero effect on the durability of the OEM suspension...it just extends the struts as if it were a longer one...it just won't have the extra travel of a longer coil-over...

Thanks for the replies guys. I see no reason for spacers to impact ride quality nor impact the durability / life of the suspension componets except perhaps tie rod ends.

Spacers would be cheaper.

That is for sure, like 1/3 less, I priced both. Why put new springs and shocks on a truck with 11,000 miles.

Most have ditched FX4 struts because of their poor performance...

I don't have the FX4 option just a Lariat with the Sport trim package.

I changed my stocks out; with new alignment it was a grand. But well worth, the ride and handling is great.
