I'm not sure how far it is from you, but Old NC 105 might suit your needs. I did it a couple of times this summer after @Msfitoy & @alan0614 suggested it to me. It's starts off gravel, but is mostly hard-pack dirt; the second time we did it, it was bone-dry, and a 2wd could have handled it no problem, but the first time was after a rainstorm and it was somewhat muddy, so it'll depend a lot on the weather.
I loved it...would like to go back and camp again...

Yeah, it's a real nice run. Here's a couple of pics on the bone-dry run with mine, which is a lot more stock than Sid's:

Thats on the other side of Asheville, but its definitely doable. I don't want to drive a long way today, but it would be perfect since its been raining for 2 days.

They're doing road construction right outside my rental house and my landlord would NOT be pleased if I went plowing through this but man I do want to!

I installed the Ford ranger engine cover on my FX4/STX ranger. Seems like it has some engine noise improvement and maybe some protection, but who knows for sure. The visual look of the engine bay seems more complete. ?

Very nice weathering effect on the fan shroud and engine parts...looks like authentic dirt...

Amazing it was still there when you got out of the stores.
You don't worry about your taillights do you. ?

I didn't leave the bike outside on any of these visits but took the pics after finishing at each place. Got permission from my Dentist and Sprouts to bring it inside their premises. Took a chance and wheeled it into UPS and they didn't object.

You are right...if it was left outside, it probably would have been stolen like my last bike... :explode: I don't leave it in my garage anymore because they are being taken if you just leave the door open briefly... :surprised:

Not today, but this past weekend.....

  1. Mounted a winch where a winch wasn't supposed to go
  2. Installed my new Alpharex headlights
  3. Installed my new Diode Dynamics fog lights
  4. Relocated my ACC Radar
  5. Installed my new control arms

Yeah. the hole in the bumper cover is a little bit ugly. We're planning to clean it up a little bit more, and then trim the hole with U-Channel weatherstripping.

The winch mount is the Harbor Freight Badlands universal mount, mounted to the 4 Tow Hook bolts on the frame. Guy on one of the Facebook pages figured out it would fit with some trimming. My dad and I reached out to him and got his measurements. It's a tight fit, but the truck now has a 12000 pound winch in the front end

That could be worth doing a build thread on; I bet that a bunch of us would be interested.

It's on the list. Only downside is I don't have much in the way of photos for this, but I can provide where I got my information from in the writeup as well. Believe it or not, it fits a little too well.
