And I got it when it was still “reasonably” priced, so I’d make money if I did. But I don’t need the dough or more mods because I’m finis - - - -man he got that fancy cover! might as well sell that to make some money for more mods lol
nobody is ever finished unless you are getting rid of that vehicle specifically lmaoAnd I got it when it was still “reasonably” priced, so I’d make money if I did. But I don’t need the dough or more mods because I’m finis - - - -
Man, I couldn’t even finish that sentence without splitting a gut. ?
Gee, I have a hard time seeing the difference?
I have the coveted engine cover AND the split pipe insulation mod...so I'm doubley covered.Gee, I have a hard time seeing the difference?
Looks like there's a thin foam layer under the gasket thingie (so techie, I know) that raises it a bit?
Are you going to add a pool noodle Duke?
If I do, it'll be the cheapest mod I've ever done since I have a metre-long piece of pipe insulation that fell off in the basement. =D
Of course, if someone's selling a hundred dollar Ranger Engine Pool Noodle, I may have to order it! =p
Can you customize it and write Soupie on it with a Sharpie?I have the coveted engine cover AND the split pipe insulation mod...so I'm doubley covered.
I do have a piece of the insulation left that I will gladly send you for the low low low price of, not $100...not $99...not even $98....it's yours for the super price of just $97.
BUT WAIT....for just a few bucks more, I'll double your order and include free shipping on the second one !!!!
Good thing I have a lifetime supply of Ford’s fix at the cottage. Is that duct tape ?? That is already falling off ??
Yes, customization is free....and if you are not satisfied, you can keep it and I'll gladly refund 25% of your cost....there is a 75% restocking fee even if you keep it !!!Can you customize it and write Soupie on it with a Sharpie?
Of course, nice customization like that would be worth another $50 to me! =)

i always said i was done with modding my tacoma and id break something and upgrade it lmao 30k in mods by the time i was done with it haha oh boy!
Some kind of tape yes. And it's falling off because after I wash the truck, I pop the hood the wipe all the residual water and dust. I wipe the cowl all the time, but this is the first time noticing the tape, probably cause it's falling offIs that duct tape ?? That is already falling off ??

In Jan 23, the TSB was updated to include the 22MY, and FYI my 22 does not have the tape.I installed the hood struts I ordered last week.

*Word of advise, always read instructions on something you've never installed before, especially something this simple.
One little detail almost ruined my day. I've installed numerous gas struts on hatches and hoods, NBD. Installed them no problem quickly "glancing" at the instructions. On the bottom on the fenders, the attachment clips need to be on the top when closed. I failed to read that and mine were on the bottom. Closed the hood and I heard them pop off and the clips bouncing off the sheet metal in the bay. Luckily, (after 30 min) I found both clips sitting on the frame rails. Re-installed properly after READING the instructions, all good..
On a side note, according the the TSB on the "water in spark plug hole" it only covers 19-21 models. I found that odd until I noticed Fords "fix" to the problem while installing said struts.

Is there a part # on it ?Some kind of tape yes. And it's falling off because after I wash the truck, I pop the hood the wipe all the residual water and dust. I wipe the cowl all the time, but this is the first time noticing the tape, probably cause it's falling off![]()
I added a little more RTV for my own peace of mind. I'm looking into the foam fix but I'm looking at different options to that solution. Something a little less obvious looking. In Jan 23, the TSB was updated to include the 22MY, and FYI my 22 does not have the tape.
Will have to see if the TSB gets updated to add the 23MY, I suspect they also added RTV at the seam and then covered it with tape to keep the RTV in place.
This is one thing I still want to investigate on mine and determine what can be done at this location.
I have added the engine cover for the Low price of $56.00 last year so I will either look into a better seal like the tape add or the Pipe Insulation (Mod) as I have some extra leftovers from a house insulating project.
very true!Old street rodder saying.... "It's never finished until it's sold"
