Can anyone explain the different 4x4 packages? I have the base 4x4. How does the FX4 differ? Thanks

FX4 has upgraded off-road tuned shocks, locking rear dif, traction control modes not in base model, different wheels and AT tires (maybe a little larger), skid plates and last but not least that cool sticker ?

The fx4 shocks , hankooks are garbage, the skids plates ok, trail control meh. The sticker long gone.

If you are looking for a capable 4x4 get the base 4x4 with rear locker option and upgrade the tires.

I found the ride with the FX package too stiff. I opted for the base 4x4 and added locking diff. Im very happy with that setup.

Mine were anything but stiff. Wallowed and brake dove like a fighter with a glass jaw. Eibach pro truck fixed that.

Thanks everyone. I guess I got lucky. My base 4x4 has the locking rear diff and is pretty comfy for a 4x4 pickup.
I have an STX with the base suspension and no locker. Be nice to have it but not absolutely necessary for me.
I did replace the rear shocks at 50k. Had a vibration I couldn't figure out and it turned out the rear shocks were weak.

You have an excellent 4x4 platform. Stock you can go 265/70/17 no lift on A/T tires which will make even more capable and best next off road mod if you desire.

On my 2020 build, FX4 added $1295 to the price.
