Took it to the beach this afternoon. Since ya’ll don’t care for my off-centered pics, you’ll have to take my word for it.?

Ahhhhh, the Gulf Coast. I love it there Tracy!

My brother from Daphne, AL was up here at the cottage on Lake Huron for a visit this week and was remarking how it isn’t that much different than back home, except for the heat, the palm trees, and the pelicans. He’s lived in MS and AL for decades - I still can’t get over his southern accent. ?

But he’s right, our lake does look like the sea!

My experience in recent years is that batteries are on borrowed time after three years. Which means I'm due.
I agree, three years is expected - quite coincidentally what most warranties just happen to be, 4 years and you've done well, 5 years is exceptional. I can remember when you got 10 years out of a battery. Anyone remember the old hard rubber black cases, and pitch filled top batteries. A company near me made them for many years. Those things weighed 20 tons and lasted almost forever.

Wow that's a lake! We don't have that much fresh water in the whole of Australia!

Yeah, it’s Lake Huron Cam and it’s BIG (330 km by 295 km) but there’s a larger one here, Lake Superior. They’re part of the Great Lakes of North America, five large lakes that formed after the last ice age. The Canada/USA border runs through four of them. Together, they make up 20% of the world’s fresh water supply - yes, Aliens will attack us first. ?

They’re really inland seas - here are some things you might not have thought you’d see on a lake…

@Cmar, they can be real "moody" too; here's a couple of pictures of Lake Ontario taken from pretty much the same spot a couple of days apart in February:
