Just watched a video on a 2019 F150 with ten speed shifting issues. He stated the Ford tech disabled the transmission adaptive ability to learn on the transmission, this seem to fix 90% of his issues. The tech did it right in the drive up at the dealership.
Can this be done on a Ranger, anyone try this. ?

It would be intersting to see what that would do long-term, and what the base-level programming is, or even if it is truly off.

Best case is that it would increase the line pressure and quicken up the shifts at the expense of smoothness I'd imagine.

FWIW, smooth shifting automatics are generally higher wearing, but since the general public wants to drive trucks that are more car-like, I suppose we're stuck with it.

Theres a process on forscan that may work that apparently came from a chatgpt request.
But the disclaimer will leave you holding all the marbles if something goes wrong down the road. You know you will lose any warranty coverage if you disable it.

Note: It's important to note that disabling the adaptive learning feature can have negative effects on your vehicle's performance and may cause the engine to run poorly. It's recommended that you consult with a professional mechanic or automotive technician before making any changes to your vehicle's configuration.

I can't seem to find it now , but someone posted that there is a TSB for a flash that changes the shfting protocol to be more like Trailer Tow. Instead of the 1,(2) 3 (4)5,6,7etc, where 2 & 4 are usually skipped, the revised pattern is more like 1,2,(3),4 5 6,7,etc where 3 is usually skipped and occasionally 5.

I have noticed that recently, my Ranger has started using 2 and skipping 3 before warmed up. Then it goes back to skipping 2 and using 3.

But all these people having problems are!
I respectfully disagree. If a company whose business model is to hold it till the eagle screams (looking at you, Ford) they are not going to hand out settlements without cause.
