I'm not sure what your Service tech was getting at. My wife's 10 speed was shifting stupid. Took it in, told the service manager, they reprogrammed it (I really don't know the process), and it's back to normal now. Maybe stop by another Ford dealer if possible.

One more thing. The wife's car is the first year of the 10 speed, and that may be the reason there was a reprogram for the tranny. But I suggest stopping by another dealer to make sure. Good luck.

If you have a tuner, reset the KAM (keep alive memory) and then drive it they way you want so it will adapt properly. Stay away from stop and go traffic as much as possible or keeping behind slow traffic on the main roads. These will really throw off the transmission.

Even with tunes, the transmission is still adaptive, it just had better initial programming if your tuner is on his/her game.

Also, adjusting the throttle will help. Get a pedal commander or similar or have your tuner adjust in the tune. A good starting point is to have them set normal mode to have the same response as sport.

To reset the KAM, the battery disconnect process mentioned before in this thread should work as well. I have seen the tuner method have better results though. At least in my experience.

I know that the Mustang guys with the A10 do KAM resets as a regular practice.
