Same thing happened to mine. File through their insurance, take the check, order the top plastic, and 2 bottom plastic pieces from American Trucks dot com. Once all the plastic is off, there are 4 hex-head bolts to remove the right bumperette, and two other small bracket/rods that's suspended by a really flimsy metal bracket. Bend the bracket back by hand, (literally one hand), remount the bumperette and remount other brackets that will line up perfectly, replace the plastic pieces. Fixed. Hardest part is the damn wheel lock and trailer plug.

You have to order the bottom plastic because Ford changed the tooth pattern when're they interlock, and because they're damaged. It's like 8, 10mm bolts on each that you'll see when you rip the top piece off. That's it though...3 pieces of plastic, about $200.00. Well, that and a 6pk of beer. Took me about an hour.

Good to know. I was cleaning the truck and saw my pass side plastic split then noticed the ding and the gap. Grabbed the Rh side of the bumper and pulled it out. Looks like someone backed into it in the parking lot with a hitch. Can't get it to snap back together so I'm off to American trucks.

Some people REALLY suck. Hopefully the idiot that backed into you had about 3 flat tires on the way home.... all three of which could not be repaired. And damaged two wheels beyond repair. And got the runs from whatever he had for dinner. Otherwise, wish him the best. You know, that karma thing and all.

New bumper bracket, new hitch, new plastic trim pieces; if the right and left bumper side pieces aren't bent they can reuse them, otherwise they will be the expensive pieces because they are heavier grade steel and they're painted. My estimate is $2100.00

Let's give him/her/them/they a headache and a nagging groin pull too. I mean, this can't be the only shitty thing they've done in this life.

Sorry for your loss...that sux...I'm a firm believer in too much is never enough and that's why I had to have a hitch bumper + rear trail light bar for extra turn and the brake has rapid pulse module...get in their face before they go up your ass...
Yeah, but they have to be looking up to see it. Gotta finish that text, you know...

Happened yesterday on my way home from work. Not happy about it obviously, but it could be A LOT worse. I was still at a red light and got rear ended. I believe the hitch took the brunt of the hit as there's not much ( that I can see) damage. Probably just rear bumper stuff and paint, maybe the tow hitch as well. Dude probably has a VW logo on the front of his Yukon now lol.

People don't seem to understand that they can kill people while driving distracted. I feel lucky to be alive after getting rear-ended in my 98 Ranger while stopping a light. 55MPH is no joke....

Many years ago I was stopped in traffic on the highway and reflexively looked in my rear view mirror to see a BMW grill approaching at an alarming speed.

Oddly I felt all I could do was relax, put my head back and exhale, closing my eyes and started putting my hands in my lap ready to greet my Savior.

Instead of cataclysm I heard/saw on my right the beemer kicking up gravel/debris as he slid by on the shoulder.

I got lucky that day. ?
