Oh well, at least the truck was cheap, right?
Pre-pandemic yes most everything or most was cheaper, it really comes down to a first year build and the assembly process catching on to the finer details and correcting.

Yeah, I bought my 2020 in April of the same year, a month after the WHO declared the world was in a pandemic. No one at the dealership was wearing masks yet. Seems like a different world, but then again it really was.

Dont check the hood to fender alignment either, front bumper alignment, or the mirrors.

Thank goodness mine are just fine!?
Yep, I have this here. My hood to fner alignment drives me crazy. And when I got it the driver bumper gap from passenger made me think it had a wreck at one point.

I loosened my bed bolts and moved mine into a better position. I also shimmed my front bumper for similar reasons.

Dear Ford, create some rubber spacers that are put in place prior to bed being lowered on to the frame to duplicate the same alignment every time from all angles. Once the bed is in place, pull the spacers out.

Youre welcome.

We call this wonderful device a "jig" - very helpful tool.

Please mail one portion of each designer's salary that created your manufacturer lines promptly - you clearly have such an excess of money you don't care if a 5 year old could improve your QA process.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Checked mine today after reading the ops post. :surprised: Was still downstairs getting my caffeine fix before the start of the workday. Went running to the garage, coffee in hand, to frantically grab a tape measure. Hate this forum! Kiddin'.... maybe.:giggle:

Anyway, difference in gaps on mine too. I ended up measuring from the top edge of the front bed wall to the back of the cab. Appears mine is off by about 1/8 of an inch. :curse:

"There goes any hope I have of sleeping tonight! Stupid POS truck. Can't even believe Ford sold me this thing! I knew I shoulda bought that (insert brand here) when I was looking at it. Gonna check into lemon laws right after I lawyer up!"
Sorry, trying to get psyched up for chapter 2 of this thread.

Reality? Ok. No biggie. I'm over it already. Got to say the hood, fenders, etc. line up nicely on my truck. As mentioned elsewhere the drivers door is slightly less than perfect. And it's not bothering me either.

Bottomline, still love the truck. 5800+ miles of happiness so far. But damn does it need a bath.
