What's up guys, superdannyboy here.

Looks like Mishimoto recently released an aluminum coolant reservoir in either micro-wrinkle black finish or aluminum finish.

DESCRIPTION
It's only been four years since the first Ford Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost rolled off the assembly line, but those four years have been rough on some of the plastic parts under your Ranger's hood. Your coolant expansion tank is probably beginning to show its age thanks to thousands of heating and cooling cycles bathed in orange or pink coolant. It's likely developed that classic dingy yellow tone, and it may be hard to see the coolant level through the side of the tank that gets more opaque by the day. Soon enough, that plastic expansion tank will become brittle, and one misplaced elbow or especially deep pothole has the potential to start a cascade of coolant. Luckily, Mishimoto's 2019+ Ford Ranger all-aluminum expansion tank is built to last a lifetime.

Our Ford Ranger EcoBoost expansion tank is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum and precision TIG-welded to create a durable expansion tank that can withstand thousands of heat cycles and high pressures without cracks or leaks. On the outside, we've included a high-visibility sight glass and stamped cold-fill line to make checking your coolant level easy, while the available micro-wrinkle black powder coated or polished finishes suit any style. Our fill neck also accepts the stock expansion tank cap to keep maintenance easy. Inside, baffles keep coolant cycling into the engine, no matter how steep the road or trail gets.

Like all of our products, this aluminum expansion tank for your 2019+ Ford Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost is backed by our Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty for a lifetime of durability and worry-free running.

Actually my coolant level is pretty low. Haven't added any since December 2019.

Virtually every coolant reservoir tank in every car I've ever owned has developed a crack/leak.

Looks aside this is actually a pretty nice upgrade for the long term owner - and it holds a gallon of coolant.

is this so you have a harder time monitoring coolant levels? I feel it needs a bigger sight glass on the side

The price is not bad for the welding amount required.

Sort of surprised, some of their stuff is priced pretty crazy.
Pssstttt. It’s the local Vocational School graduation projects. ?

You know what's actually crazy is I did an associate's degree in manufacturing at the community college before I did my bachelor's in mechanical engineering. None of the classes transferred so it was a true 2 years of designing, programming, and machining before doing engineering.

Anyway, for the manufacturing we usually got university projects that needed help machining their parts and we got to machine them, surface grind, install hardware I mean that little machine shop had new everything. Then when I did my university project we couldn't use much of anything, they gave us such a hard time, and everything was old not maintained and no one working there knew what they were doing. That community college was world class I'm telling you.

Yea may rank up there on the "when there is nothing left to mod, but its either buy this or be stupid and waste the money on hookers and blow".
I heard hookers and blow! Where they at?

I was thinking just the opposite.

TIG welded aluminum fuel cell in my hotrod just popped a 10" crack on the weld. Replacement is poly to avoid this in the future.

I might be interested in this but I just can’t justify the money for just a look.
I said the word “just” a lot right there.
