A few observations after driving 260 miles. The suspension feels really nice and I can't wait to get off road with it. It's way better than the Fx4 and a lot smoother than the Eibach I had. It'll be interesting to see how it is once it breaks in more but even going through the downtown area where the roads were very bumpy it was plush. I'm super happy I went with the Tremor package.

I love the seats! I was nervous because I always loved my leather seats in my '19 and was afraid these might not be as comfortable but they're even better.

The negative so far is that the heated seats don't seem as hot as my '19. I use them all the time as a heating pad for my back and after flying it was killing me. I had them on high the whole way and it's like having them on medium on my '19.

The verdict is still out on the tires. They definitely hold and throw a lot of stones as that's all I could here when driving around town before I got up on the highway. They're a little noisier than my Toyo's but not obnoxiously bad. I thought I might change them out for another set of Toyo's once I got home but I'll have to see once I get home and have some more miles on them.

I know it's only a truck and it might sound funny but man I felt lost without my Ranger! Even Annie said "it's good to see you smiling again". Thank you all as I've always said this forum is like no other and while we might not always agree on everything in the end we all come out to help another member in need. :like:

My dad claims that the law only applies to gasoline (I've never felt a need to verify this claim), so he'll start pumping his own diesel before the attendant bothers to meander on over. I was with him once when he did this and the kid at the station kept insisting that what he was doing was illegal. My dad finally told him to call the cops, which got a confused look from the kid who then wandered off.
Being from Oregon most times I found it annoying. Now in cold winter hey pump away. But they altered the law for small, remote areas. So say 24 hour pumps there would be no attendant, so you can fill yourself. Most times my dog didn't mind people pumping the gas. One occasion this guy who came out to pump was well....hmmm...you could tell he was a crackhead seriously. My dog went ballistic, she could sense he wasn't a good guy. He was like "what did I do"? Didn't have the heart to say well she knows your a scumbag. ?

It’s been 6 weeks to the day since my accident and we’re heading out soon for a 10:00 am flight to WA to pick up Money Pit 2. Man I miss driving my Ranger and I just hope this one runs as well as the first one did. Good thing I can now start fresh with a new warranty and I’ll have 96K before I have to worry about the transmission going.....?

:inspect: After the inspection we should be in & out fairly quickly since there’s no loan and I don’t need them to go over anything on the truck. I’d bet I know more than they do. Lol I’m hoping to leave there around 2:00 pm and head straight back and I made our first nights stop in La Grange, OR which is roughly 260 miles away. I figure that’ll be a good drive to break it in some and make a few stops along the way. Then the next two days will be about 500 miles each and we should be home late in the day Thursday if all goes well. ? Pics to come of Money Pit 2.
"Money Pit II"! Spoken like a man who knows his vehicles--and knows himself!

Play with tire pressures to help with the ride. I am down to ~35 psi and the ride is softer. Also one thing you might notice is how fast you go over a bump effects how the suspension reacts and feels. In my neighborhood if I got <15 mph the stuff in the bed does that kerthump over a speed bump, if I hit the same speed bump at ~30 mph there is that kerthump... I believe it's due to the valving in the fox suspension and the multileaf rear spring....

It must feel good to get that first day’s shakedown drive behind you. Now you can really relax and enjoy the rest of the trip, complete with all those extra stops along the way so Annie can get some shopping in.

I think they’re well-earned since she had to deal with you these last six weeks and I’m pretty sure you were a handful. It’s not too late to plan the rest of your route based on Outlet Mall locations rather than points of interest.

I hope the rest of the trip goes as well as the first part has. Safe travels.

I'll have to hand calculate it tomorrow but surprisingly the mpg wasn't to bad, I was expecting worse. Being new and with the dealer filling it with 87 I averaged 22.7 with 90% highway driving. I tried the best I could to fluctuate my speed anywhere from 55-80 and we made a couple pit stops.

Also, thanks Rick @Rp930 for suggesting that we stop at Dicks Hamburgs while we were in Spokane Valley. It's an old 60's type walk up burger place which was a perfect place to grab a good burger and fries before heading on the road.

I think Kristina @Kristina would've had a heart attack though. We had to eat in the new truck while driving.o_O The place we were staying at in La Grande,OR has a check in deadline of 9:00pm so we didn't have time to hang around and eat there. No worries Kristina there were no crumbs anywhere I checked once we stopped.:inspect:?

Thanks Duke! Remember she was back in Chicago for 3 of those 6 weeks so she didn't get the full effect.

Yes it does fell good to get those first couple hundred miles done with. Shopping? She'll have plenty of time in June to shop like it's her job!

Look at those miles racking up. Probably have to trade it in when you get home. I like the blue, shame the truck doesn't match. You know us blue guy's we have to rub it in. Nice truck anyway.:like:
