Not a whole lot of info that I see yet, I'll keep looking through the lighting thread though. Just curious to those who have switched to LED's for the license plate, which ones did you go with and why? I found this in the search which is helpful. From what I have read so far, there is no issue with the license plate LED's causing any hyper flash or anything?

My usual first place to go is superbrightleds.com and they have 2 styles

The issue I’ve had is no matter which bulb eventually one would burn out and the other would flicker.

I tried dielectric grease and it didn’t matter.

I switched back to my oem bulbs to see if the same issue pops up. Not sure if others experienced this as well, just wanted to throw it out there.

I threw in the Diode Dynamics ones hoping to eliminate some of the glare in the backup camera at night, it didn't help. Other than that, they work and look great. Just need to get in there with some electrical tape or something to try and eliminate the glare on the camera.

I used some Amazon bulbs I had laying around from using them in other vehicles and they were great... Pretty bright too. Eventually, they started flickering, so now I have swapped out for some Diode Dynamics and will see if the flicker comes back.

These are the Diode Dynamics bulbs (HP3, I believe) installed. Not particularly bright, but the color is good. This picture really shows why we have such bad glare on the camera... No doubt, an engineer did that.

That actually happened to me on my 2001 Ranger. Put some Amazon specials in and after a few years one corroded and burnt out and the other one would flicker. Funny thing is I don't know how long it was doing it for. I just happened to park it in the garage one night as we were expecting a lot of ice and I didn't want to scape in the morning, when I started the truck in the morning and turned on the lights it was like a rave party in my garage ??.

I put LEDs in my license plate lights...likely never used as we do not drive at night very much if at all.

I recall a thread where to get the LED bulbs... I will try to search for it

I use these because it aims the light more towards the license plate.

The ones from Diode Dynamics are at the tip. So it aims up a bit towards the tailgate.

They also fit the Ford Edge. I have the same ones on my 2022 Ford Edge ST

I tried LEDS IN License plate sockets.
Removed them because of the 60 HZ scan flicker in backup camera mode at night time.
