There's a reason the tuning that I worked with Torrie at Unleashed on has become so popular on here

After the re-learn, I have not experienced a single slip, bang, shudder, or “what just rear ended me” feeling like prior to the service. Already drove a full tank (450 miles) with zero issues.

What all did they do? Just an adaptive reset?

Man I wish my results were the same! ive driven 500 since the pcm swap, flash and valve body replacement and mines same as before except slipping and banging in different gears. would not go into seventh today. it was well warmed and after 200 miles of cruise control highway drive. stopped for fuel and then back on the ramp did the normal 1 3 5 6 hang slip rev hang tried 7th went back to 6 then 8 9 10. ?

My guess is it's the clutch packs. That's what happened to mine. 2 of them were burnt. Now it drives like when I first bought it.

see if you can get a video of it happening for the dealer. 7th gear is always hit. Mines been doing it with 3rd hanging then revving and not shifting up and then rpm’s dropping back down a bit and it stays in 3rd. Mainly on hills next to my house when I used to be in fifth on the same hill.

I will add my experience to the list here. On cold starts I have a very harsh shift from 3rd to 4th, goes into gear with a clunk. It seems to get better once the truck has warmed up. I've also had a couple mornings where it has not wanted to go into reverse, it will act like it's in neutral until I put it in park and back to reverse. I dropped it off at the dealer and they updated the shift strategy and performed a relearn. After getting it back it still seems to be shifting hard. I will give it some more time but I don't have high hopes for it being resolved. I am only at 18k miles. I guess I'll wait until it completely grenades, hopefully still under warranty.

sounds correct to me. it feels like a bad clutch in a manual.

To the guys saying this isn't a big issue because out of all the 10R80s in service we probably represent just a small percentage, how about NO percentage of failures. These issues should not be happening at all.

In a perfect world I agree. But show me a product that's mass produced with a Zero failure rate? Especially one as complicated at this 10R80.

Oh, I understand that, but looking at the spread of issues people are having across all models with this transmission, I'd say they really dropped the ball on this one.

BTW, even the Maverick guys are having issues (and it is a different transmission and drivetrain [FWD based]):
