I've seen the blackout and led lights behind the badge but never taken off the badge lettering and put mesh or a different badge emblem.

I got bothered enough that I pulled off the emblem cover on the side vent. I was thinking of going rtr style and putting mesh but I don't know. Maybe an emblem or side light marker would look cool. Has anyone done this?

My guess is it's the clutch packs. That's what happened to mine. 2 of them were burnt. Now it drives like when I first bought it.

I think however these transmissions are running, they run hot and the oil needs to be replaced more often than what was expected.

I'm the O.P, I got a brand new transmission put in because of a burnt clutch. Same thing with video. What could be the issue? Should start a new thread.

UPDATE** Got a new transmission. Said it was a "burnt clutch". I briefly read the paper work but said fluid was black but at level. Something up with the fluid and design?

Mix some car wash soap and water in a Spray bottle and use a clay bar on it. Will come off.

Yeah I'd be real careful switching fluids. Plus other 10r80 owners have already tried switch brands. Amsoil is said to be too thick and Valvoline seems to be a compatible alternative. Search online. Has anyone tried "LubeGuard"? It's an additive that supposedly works wonders with just 1-2 ozs...

I took it to the original dealership where I bought it. Who knows if the parts excuse were true. We'll wait and see what it needs.

Update: They started surgery. Asked permission to tear it down because the transmission tech wants to see what's going on in there. Said they updated the pcm but I'm guessing that didn't work.

No the service advisor didn't say they were full of rangers. He said they had torn down transmissions but can't fix them because they can't get the parts. That at that dealership, they were backlogged and were using part of Mazda's facilities next door. Both are Caruso. Don't know if true or not.

I live in Orange County Ca. It is stop and go with traffic lights at every corner. When I get up in gears it would drive perfect.

Why is it so hot burning clutches and the wires? Fluid?
