fish tape. upper fire wall on the driver side (usa model) is a small access hole. sort of look behind the brake stuff and under the wiper and you will see it. it has a plastic plug in place you can pop out or simply punch through. the inside cab position is up under dash behind brake and near the bundles of factory wire. its a pain in the ass to reach without a fish tape or coat hanger or something to get the wires through. once through its a great spot as it brings the wires in near the fuse panel in the cab, is close to the dash for a switch and under hood spot is near other factory wires in line to the battery.
tried to show a pic that makes it easier to find. if your trucks a bright color it will look like a black spot. if your trucks black good luck lol.
Truck is white so it was easy to spot thank you!

Installed a new SwingCase from @Stage3Motorsports which required me to make a trip to Lowe's to buy yet another tap to clean the holes that were filled with spray in bed liner.

Saw a guy pull up in this beautiful '53 Merc. I complimented the guy on how nice his car was when asking him what year it was. He said, "It's a 53," and stormed off without even saying "Thank you." So I guess owners of '53 Mercs are either a$$holes or just hate talking about cars. Whatever.

im thinking im going to do that with my tax return on the 4g. i dont wanna spend the money on it but it is the main mode of rollin lol.
Tax return? Are you having shop do this? It's super easy if you're leveled and then it's a matter of crawling under with some socket wrenches and drain tray...

I missed the 4G part...

Maybe a dumb question from new Ranger owner...is the Ranger pre-drilled for the swing out? There are predrilled spots in the rear bed of my pickup on both sides that look similar to where swingouts would mount. I bought it used so someone may have had something mounted previously.

Not a dumb question at all.

Yes, the SwingCase uses predrilled holes in your Ranger. There are a total of 7 holes. There are 3 holes in a vertical line at the end of the bed that you can see on the right side of my photo for the hinge mount. Those are 6mm x 1.0, and they were the ones I needed to clean out due to the spray in bed liner.

The bracket also uses the two pairs of tie down holes, the rear tie down and the middle tie down. You do not lose the tie down since you just install the bracket behind them, but you might have to remove the box to effectively use them.

Yes. Bed is predrilled and tapped to accept swing box hardware.
If you have spray in bed liner you have to work at cleaning out the threads.

Thanks. I need some storage for basics like a small tool kit, small shovel, and jumper cables, etc. May have to look into this a Stage3 box.

Those front seats fit as good, maybe better, than my $400+ Wet Okoles!

Looks great!

You know, if there’s ever a day when I’m feeling particularly down or bummed out I’m just going to come back here and post that I installed another tailgate damper!
Side benefit to the damper. It was 17° the other day when I went to grab a bag of driveway salt at Lowe's. Good thing there's a Target in the same parking lot.

So I open the tailgate and it's slower than molasses and groaning and creaking the whole way down.

So slow that I could go get a Starbucks coffee and a muffin. I almost had the muffin completely finished by the time the tailgate was all the way down. =p
