I just got a fresh set of 265/70 R17 Grabber ATX SL 115T installed at Discount Tire. God I love these tires. They are OE on the Tremor and I put them on in the Raptor size when I bought my Ranger new. They stick like glue to dirt, rock and snow, and don't make noise on pavement. First set was rated 45k and I got 46k out of them, sliding around in the snow with the tires at the wear bars was no fun so I went and got a new set.

So, Discount Tire is offering wiper replacements. They are selling Trico "Pro+" beam style, like Ford OE, for $45 installed. THESE ARE $5 WIPER BLADES ON ROCKAUTO. What the fuck. Just say no.

I bought my Nitto terra grappler 2's there. I went in for a tire rotation an they tried to sell me a set for $25. Maybe that was each I don't know. I changed mine once an the ones I got are OK I'll probably get Michelin next to see how they are.

didnt know discount did anything other than tires and wheels. i got a set of wipers for pops buick a few months ago at oreilly auto parts cost about 50 bucks. dont remember the brand but i would not have paid that for mine. my oem wipers have held up pretty well so far. but with only 26k on the truck and very few of those days in rain its hard to judge.

@fusseli

We appreciate your support and are grateful for your business! We are happy that you are pleased with your recent purchase of tires.

Wiper blades are a new program through the Discount / Americas Tire stores and the average cost is $12.00 for the conventional blade, per side, and $22.00 for the Max Pressure, per side.

We apologize if the cost seems high, we do our best to make sure we are in alignment with other retailers. Thank you for the feedback and patronage!

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I get my Trico wipers online for a lot less, heck, the monster blades for my RV's 100" windshield was only $55 a set.

I purchase Bosch Icon wipers for all my vehicles. I know they are a bit expensive but they are a great wiper and last here in Northern California for 3 years or more. For the Ranger, at Amazon, a set is $49.97.

I am not familiar with the wipers that Discount Tire is selling but if they are near the quality of the Bosch, then their cost installed is not out of line in my opinion.

I heard the Bosch Icon's are a great wiper blade. The next time I get them I will be getting the Bosch's. I have done the Trico's in the past and they are nothing to write home about. I usually change them every two years or less depending.

I love Discount Tire, so this is not really a knock on them. When Discount Tire is offering wiper blades, its not for people like us, who can replace them ourselves or who would be willing to research them online. They are offering wiper blades for people who don't know how/won't change them on their own and don't want to worry about finding the correct blades on their own. I spent $80 on wiper blades for my wife's Subaru, so $45 does not sound off the mark. For this to be done without the car owner having to make a second trip, that's most likely worth it to them. Cost of convenience.

How are those tires in the wet? Living in the PNW that's my primary focus for a new tire purchase...for example, I've heard that BF Goodrich, while they look great, can be a bit twitchy

Have to agree with you. Ordered my tires from Discount yesterday, and even tho I came in with my knowing exactly what I wanted, and the salesman knew by my questions and data I had that I was a DIY, he still had to ask if I wanted blades....he knew I would decline, but still had to ask. Can't fault them for the option for those who can't do it themselves....I'd wager the majority of their customers fall into that category.
Have to agree on the Subi's blades...three of them on wife's Outback can easily run $70-$80 bucks.
It was sooooo easy back in the 60's-70's when every gas station had the yellow Trico display with an assortment of blades....back then every car n truck has two blades of the same length...it was easy just to change the rubber wiper part for a few $$$.

Steve what tires and size did you end up getting? I really like my Coopers that I put on.

Thanks
Ordered Yokohama Geolander G 015, LT265/70/17. E rated, 10 ply. Supposed to be shipped from warehouse and hopefully, if they get them today, mounted tomorrow.

What size and tire did you decide on Steve? I am glad I did what I did with the Coopers!
