Wow, those aftermarket units are low. Have you checked if the wiring is by the kick panel for the brake controller? The wires I'm talking about are mentioned in the controller install instructions found here.

I'll have to check for wiring, although I really only tow a 5x8 utility loaded with a zero turn on it so I'll probably never need a b/c
