I looked at a Ford Mach-E over the weekend. It doesn't qualify though because it was $78k+ msrp.

Buying an EV right now is like buying a MY19 Ranger. I waited till MY22 so the bugs were worked out.

Rebuttal from @AzScorpion in 3-2-1 ???
They were worked out all right. All 26 deleted bugs and still counting!

A PHEV Ranger I would trade my Ranger in a heart beat for. As far as getting a full EV....:puke:?

not to be a jerk but just the fact that a tax credit exists for ev pisses me off. ev is a solution looking for a problem. they are not environmentally friendly by a long shot. they are way over priced and typical govt fail in action. many of the major automakers had ev before most of us were even born. they trash canned the idea then when they realized no real up side existed for them or the customer or the environment. the difference now is that people are led to believe they are buying a "green" option of transportation and the manufactures and govt are making money this time that they were not the first few go arounds. how about a tax break to give the tax payers money back from all the inflation we have been shouldering?
so 275,913,237 vehicles registered in the U.S. in 2020. if we figure about 1000 pound lithium battery pack for that many cars thats 275913237000 pounds (roughly) lets not split frog hairs - of earth metals that must be pulled out of the ground by strip mines / open pit mines. here is a picture of an older lithium mine mainly used for tech device batts like phones / laptops. i dont wanna see how the planet will look after we swing into high gear to support this nonsense ev push. if the purpose was to really help the environment why not bio fuels that requires plants that take in co2 and expel oxygen and burn relatively clean. why no bio diesel push or even diesel electric. those are proven and well documented for being efficient and powerful. rail roads have moved countless amounts of freight for decades on diesel electric. run the engine on bio fuel and make it even better . na not enough shenanigans in that. if ford would sell us a hybrid diesel electric ranger id be on the list.

The EV Tax Credit is Real (We got a plugin hybrid minivan last year). If you've been thinking about making the switch to and EV and cashing in on that tax credit, here is how it works.

There are three broad qualifications for the EV Tax Credit:
1. You must make less than $150,000 per year if you file taxes individually or less than $300,000 married and filing jointly.
2. Your EV car must cost less than $55,000.
3. Your EV truck, van, or SUV must cost less than $80,000.

However, because of some additional requirements written into the law, not all EVs within the price requirements qualify. Luckily, you can find the details on the IRS’s EV Tax Credit webpage (Manufacturers and Models of Qualified Used Clean Vehicles | Internal Revenue Service).

What's new this year is a tax credit for used EV purchases. This credit can equal up to 30% of the vehicle purchase price with a max of $4,000.

For the used credit the income requirements are a little different:
$150,000 if married and filing jointly.
$112,500 for heads of households.
$75,000 for all others.

Here is a list of all qualifying used EVs
(Manufacturers and Models of Qualified Used Clean Vehicles | Internal Revenue Service).
And remember, if you're buying a new car, Carmigo is the best way to sell your old one.
They will have to pry my Internal Combustion 97 Octane Engine from my ”Cold Dead Hands” ?

And purely electric vehicles will hopefully be outdated by a more truly alternative fuel source.

For a PHEV that would do 30 miles on a charge, yes.
Pure EV, not yet.
