It's nice to see that Ford has the Ranger in their spotlight going into 2037 and beyond. I know some thought they might phase it out because the Maverick was such a hit but according to this article they have it being produced on the same T6 platform through 2037.

Once the new Blue Oval city is built and all the EV's move over to there MAP will only be building the ICE Ranger and Bronco. If we ever get these constraints back to normal Ford should really be able to pump these vehicles out. ?

Also with production f the 6G starting on May 1st we should be seeing the new Build & Price up soon.

https://fordauthority.com/2023/01/ford-ranger-to-utilize-t6-platform-into-next-decade-report/

That roadmap indicates that the new Ranger is set to enter production at the Michigan Assembly plant on May 1st, 2023, and will remain in production there through July 27th, 2029. However, the next generation of the mid-size pickup will follow it on August 1st, 2029, and will reportedly continue being produced through July 31st, 2037 – but perhaps more importantly, it will do so on the same T6 platform that underpins the current model, as well as the Ford Bronco.

As Ford Authority previously reported, the next-generation Ford Bronco is expected to enter production at the Michigan Assembly plant in November 2029 for the 2030 model year, and it will also continue to ride on the T6 platform as well. This timeline also means that the ICE-powered Ford Bronco will be sold alongside the all-electric version of the off-road-focused SUV, which is also expected to launch in 2029, entering production on November 1st of that year and running through November 26th, 2036.

However, the Bronco and Ranger EVs are slated to be produced at the under-construction BlueOval City complex in Tennessee – not alongside their gas-powered brethren in Michigan. Both new EV models will also ride on Ford’s new TE1 platform, dedicated EV underpinnings that those vehicles will share with a variety of other future pickup, utility, and van models.

I’ll be playing with the 6G build options for the next 5-6 years. Had my 5G a year and planning to keep for a while with my 8/100 extended warranty. This warranty has kept me out of the tune territory so far.

I would think they'd have to officially announce it before the build & price would be up. Last I heard the hope was that it would be officially unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show next month.....

I don't think it's a bad thing keeping the same T6 platform. It's been tried and tested and through all the safety tests. It saves them thousands of dollars (testing and scrapping) in a time where parts are hard to come by. We've seen our share of members who've been in some bad wrecks here and the frames have held up very well. Unless they find/design something better why fix what's not broke?

It's a fantastic platform and as we can see from the new multi-link coil spring rear suspension coming out in the 6G (already used in the Bronco and previous Ranger Raptor), the nice thing about a body on frame design is that you can update the suspension, completely re-design it, etc. whatever you want. Same with the body.

I'm not going to pretend I know the first thing about Truck chassis' engineering, however, I would presume that the overall strength of the truck is a derivative of the strength of its frame. The Ford Ranger is nearly as strong as the weakest Ram 1500 - which is a full-size pickup. I think even with the next generation Frontier, Tacoma, Colorado & Canyon coming out the Ranger is still the strongest. I can see why they'd want to save their money on R&D for their electric trucks and continue with a strong ICE platform.

Sitting here quietly dreaming they will offer the manual transmission in the 6G Ranger just like the Bronco. Also dreaming they make the new dual injection 2.3 standard.

By 2037 I'll be almost 90.....probably be driving this EV by then....

Same here. I'd be pretty shocked if I make it that long, especially if they take my stove.

On a less negative note, seeing how long I kept my FJ40, I could be driving Soupie in 2067!

I'll need to install my Wolfhaus bed power, sooner than later, to make sure my cryogenically-frozen body stays fresh in the bed! =D

You'll get one of your wishes. IIRC they are putting the dual injection in the 2.3 for the 6G. I really don't think there's a very high demand for a manual so I doubt you'll see that. Even in the Bronco I think it was something like 75% ordered the auto over the stick.

Yeah, I suspect it will be the Bronco which doesn't hurt my feelings too bad. I get that the majority of folks prefer an automagic. If the automatic was a 6 speed, I'd probably concede and fall in line with the masses. The 10 speed is cool if you are towing but for daily driving it never seems to downshift soon enough and I shouldn't have to resort to tuning to fix that. I do my own tuning, but refuse to tune a daily driver. I'm weird that way, lol.

Until we know for sure, I'll keep the dream alive. ?
