My Ranger is leaking…

Noticed today that my Ranger is leaking water into the cab ?. Either through the 3rd brake light, antenna or back window. Hopefully covered under warranty. Will find out soon…

has anyone experienced this?

I don't have this issue, but I will say once during last summer I did notice black residue seeping from the antenna shark fin mount.

So I would check there, but more than likely your third brake light is the culprit. Seems to be a common problem on pick up trucks in general.

Do you go to the touchless car wash? They tend to rely on high pressure and it might be getting in through the shark fin or the cargo lamp. I was at one today and I thought it was going to blast the paint clear off my truck.

Starting to rethink using them now. ?

I do not! Wash it myself. So funny - as much as I can love this fucking piece of metal, I get so sad when it needs work, lol.

My brothers 16' Silverado had the issue as well. He replaced the foam seal(Good ole' GM) with a rubber gasket and black RTV.

I had similar leak on my old rusty pos dodge dakota.

I believe I have seen a couple of posts on here about it over the last year or so - I think it was related to the sealant on the rear window itself, I may be incorrect though.

That happened to me after I modified my CHMSL....I made sure to seal it and cleaned the liner and it was fine after...

I had third brake light leak on my f150. I pulled it out, cleaned the gasket and silicone sprayed the gasket, not rtv. No more problems..

my 4g leaked around the third brake light. i took it apart and put a new seal and some clear silicone on it and no more leak.

Mine leaked from the glass when I bought it. Made an appointment with the dealer, they verified that it was coming from the glass, 2nd appointment had the glass guys reseal the window.
