What I did today to Pepper, I applied 303 Nano coating. This was done over Torque Detail spray on polish. The weather was perfect today by Florida standards anyhow. Low humidity & slight breeze from the northeast.

Also, last month I paid Pepper off, 3 months shy of 3 years ownership. (On a 7 year finance deal.)

Updated my ford performance tune last night and re-flashed it. Hard to tell if it was the tune that needed the update or just the software/hardware. Anyone know if there is "patch notes" when they add updates?

I like the way they work and they are a really efficient use of space. I was originally looking for a permanent aluminum pork chop box, but never found one for the Ranger. Of course, that would be a more permanent mount.

Do you use one or two of them? If only one, what side?
I have one on the driver's side.

I have my tow rope, emergency shovel, all my ratchet straps/bungee cords and jumper cables in it.

All this stuff would fit under the backseat of my previous truck (quad cab Dakota). The Ranger doesn't have enough room under the seat, the swing case was a perfect solution.

Looking sharp John - there’s just something about firefighters and red trucks with chrome, isn’t there? ? ?‍??

Lovely chrome package, reminds me that I need to wash mine - especially the mud caked chrome running boards.

But with snow headed my way thought it best to fire up the Cub Cadet and get it ready to throw/ blow, damn thing needs more annual maintenance than my Ranger , finally decided to fix the directional spout instead of blathering incessant oaths when the wind blows the snow back all over me. Something you don't have to deal with.

Almost done with Version 3.5

Got a bit more electrical to finish then reinstall the remaining platform grates. I am hoping to take an extended road trip to something like SEMA in 2023.

The four main fabrications/projects left for the build are:

1. solar array and battery banks

2. on-board water tank systems (I am leaning towards the area where the spare tire would normally go under the bed with a 12v pumping system)

3. in-bed pull out tray (w/swing down support legs) for an RTT (Have an 8ft arb awning with tent attachment which I would like to have as a lounge/kitchen area by itself)

4. tail gate external fuel canister mount, that actually mounts via the rear of the tail gate and you can still use the tail gate.

was the hardware for the swing case correct? The drivers side on mine has broken hardware (the lock to prevent it from swing out).

passenger side is fine but oddly came with a carabiner. Why I don’t know.

I have the ford version and it’s a long process to get this replaced/repaired.

I wish I could just get a part to replace it and be done with it.

FWIW, the swing case I have lifts off the hinge. It takes about 5 seconds to have it out of the bed when I need full bed access.

Also, the lid locks, is weather tight, there is a lock that prevents it from being removed from the hinge and there is a tab you can add a lock to prevent it from swinging out.

That's a good idea with the tote. I have a SuperCab and am collecting too much stuff on the floor of the jump seats.

I have some recovery gear, a come-along, rachet straps, chain, some tools, tire chains, shovel, and a few other things that I need to shift to the bed.

I don't want anything like the swing out cases and would rather have something I can easily access and also easily remove for my dump runs.

I was looking at metal boxes but they're expensive and would not be easy to slide out.

Your tote would be a good solution for me. With a BedRug, I might not need to tie it down.

I'll mess around with some Rubbermaid totes we have and see how that works.

Yours is holding up okay? I'd think it could wear on them quickly with tools in them, but I guess at their economical cost, who cares how long they last.
David those swing out boxes remove in a matter if minutes and they do lock in so no one can steal them. I love them. They are more expensive than rubbermaid totes but to each his own.

I purchased the Swingcase brand and all the hardware was correct and in good order.
