Very nice! :like:
Thanks Tracy! Funny because we had this granite sitting outside for the past 7 years. When I did my outdoor kitchen they broke a smaller section and they had to buy a whole slab and this was left. I wish I did it years ago but kind of forgot about it because it's on the side we never use. lol

Thanks John! Yes small improvements can really change the look of a room. I want to do all the floors over but it's a real chore just getting someone to show up here for an estimate, never mind doing the job right. I called 4 other granite companies and one never returned my call and the other three said they'd come by at the end of the day and never did.

Duke did recommend a bigger fan I'm just trying to figure our where to put it. ?

You might try in the back of the truck, could help improve mpg if you turn it on while driving.

Also, when we did our bathroom I did all the demo work and when contractors came in to do estimates (when they showed up) they would automatically assume we were in a rush to get it done and the estimate would increase from the verbal over the phone without seeing it. We're talking by the thousands...

I have to find some of the finished pictures...

I hate plumbing!!!!!
I do now! I'm a small guy and can barely fit underneath, I have no idea how they do this every day! It would've been a lot easier if I could've installed everything before they installed the tops. Then all I'd have to get under there for was to make the drain connections.

Took the Ranger to Ace Hardware for some plumbing parts on Thursday. Then back again later that day for more parts and again on Friday. We had new granite countertops put in and I'm installing the 3 faucets and reconnecting the drains, one more trip today and I should finally be 100% done. No wonder plumbers get so much money, they need to have a full warehouse of inventory on their truck.

My buddy Duke @DukeCanBuildit gave me some great advise and tips for doing the faucets and all worked out perfect! :like:

Happy to pass on anything I’ve learned to others. Those two bathrooms turned out very nice Dave - looks like you went with 1-3/8” thick slabs instead of a thinner slab with a faux front edge. Must be all that DeeZee revenue. Man, that 303 sure makes them shine! ;)

And thanks for passing along the tip on those faucet inlet caps - turns out I did have some in my in-ground sprinkler spare parts bin. ?

If anyone’s swapping out plumbing fixtures, Dave’s your guy!

We need to re-do our bathroom & kitchen. Same countertops since ‘93.

I gutted my master bath back in MA just not down to the studs. I took out the one piece tub unit and did a large walk in shower all done in Travertine with heated travertine floors. My friend owns a custom cabinet shop so he made me a cherry vanity with black maple inlay on the doors. The difference there was I knew everyone from being in construction there for 31 years.

Thanks Duke, that's what makes this forum so great. Not only can we help each other out with our trucks but we can also help out with just about anything else someone may need.

Yes it's an 1 3/8" slab I don't care for the thinner granite with the fake thicker edge. I didn't care for the shine it had from whatever they used so I used this Trinova Granite Sealer and Protector. Still made by 303. ?

I see a total of 8 cabinet doors there....I'm sure you used a Damper on each one of them so they won't slam shut !!! :like:
They're already dampered with soft close doors.

Of course you did!

Most shops mitre the front faux edge now and it’s almost undetectable, unlike the earlier method of gluing a thin flat strip under the front edge. The “tell“ is when you look at the thickness of the stone around the under-mounted sink, you‘ll see the slab’s thickness.

The guy who ended up doing the entire bathroom was in construction for several decades, custom homes etc. His dads home he enlaid a custom pattern in the entry way - one of those fancy schmancy cape code homes with the gorgeous wood flooring throughout.

this is how ours turned out - he made the mirror out of some exotic wood he "had laying around"

it is so much more functional now.

I feel so tempted to start a thread “Show how your Ranger is parked right NOW” so we can find out how forum users did their parking lessons :giggle:

our kitchen count ahs that ugly thin piece glued to the edge.

I don't understand how anyone thought that was good looking, ever.
