The wire wraps on newer vehicles are made from soy now, instead of petroleum. Mice love it. You can thank the environmentalist retards for this.

Honda makes a wire wrap tape that has capsicum in it. I wrapped as much of the wire harness as I could easily access with it, ziptied cotton balls to it and soak the balls in peppermint extract in it periodically. When I park overnight in the woods by my cabin I also put 4 poison traps by each wheel. I had to repair my wire harness last year and so I'm going all out this year.

A little bit off topic here, but on the same subject.
I haven't had any rodent issues with my Ranger yet, but just had it Krown sprayed for a second time yesterday. Had a conversation with them and asked if the next time they have any contact with Krown Corporate, they could ask if they can add some type of rodent retardant in the formulation? The place I get my truck sprayed at does an average of 15 applications a day, from August to February. That's a bunch!
Not sure where this will go?

I once bought a house that had a whole lot of meeces who found a secret path to the kitchen food cabinet through the wall studs...I designed a humane trap and eventually caught the entire family...all 12 of them!!! Kept them as pets in an aquarium for a while until....they started making babies...unloaded them far away from home needless to say...

Mice update. Set a trap on top of my battery last night around 6pm. Checked at 9pm. One dead mouse. Set trap again. Checked a 6am….another dead mouse.

This after I sprayed the entire engine compartment with Rodent Sheriff Peppermint mice repellent…I’d say that doesn’t work..

I plan on installing the screen over the Cowl Inlet holes as another poster has done in another thread, I park in garage but do get occasional mouse in the traps especially this time of year. Maybe you need to get Mr. Jinks to help. He hates Mices. I have not thought of this cartoon in years, brings back memories of Saturday Morn Cartoons

We used to put mothballs in the basement compartments of our motorhome during winter storage to keep mice away that seemed to work well.
If you have an engine cover check the bottom of it because I've read they are tasty to rodents.
