Dang, you're quite the stud! =p

I was also thinking about studded tires, although I've never used them, and grew up in Canada when all cars and trucks were only rear wheel drive and I never had any problems (knock on wood!).

PS - Those look like really big tires!!!
I like to be quite the stud =p
Yeah, I drive lot of icy roads, so this is a need. Be aware, studs are a little noisy and some don’t like it. If you don’t need them, don’t use. Better for environment.

This is my first rear wheel drive winter in my life. From past when I had to take rear wheel cars to test drives at winter, it meant always “never again” promises. Every time.

Actually same size as I have now 265/60/R18
(I mounted a lighthouse on top of the roof too)

That is a nice lighthouse and makes you safer in the blizzard!

Received my EGR sensor after being on backorder since late July. I bought it as a precaution because it's inevitable it'll be needed sooner or later and for $43.00 I'd rather have one here ready to go.

A couple of questions…

  1. Are those icons from road sign recognition technology in the Wildtrak
  2. Is it getting that cold there already?
The tailgate letters look great, by the way. ?

Hi
1. Yes
2. Yes. Some mornings below 0 Celsius at some places if it’s sunny. Water in dog’s bowl gets frozen. Too early for tire change but prices get higher and availability poor.

It's harvest time and have to harden off the squash for the root cellar. They are heirlooms in inch size ?.

I got some magnets to try to hold my BedRug up. It keeps unsticking at the front, despite having wiped it well with rubbing alcohol. I think I must be trying to connect it too high. The magnets were not strong enough on their own (30 pound pull). I have a couple of 110 pound pull coming to try (N52s).

If that doesn't work, I have gobs of double-sided 3M tape and will wipe down the bed and the existing sticky side of the velcro 3M and place it there and a bit lower (I have it trying to stick to the angled part at the front of the bed).

These could be handy for something else. If all else fails, I can use them in my tool cabinet.

It's never held very well. When it first came loose, I used rubbing alcohol again but I think I'm sticking it up too high. You can't see it too well normally cause the rolling tonneau covers it up, but still ...

up.jpg

All six finally held a little, but that won't be enough. So I'll be lazy and try stronger ones, but the real solution is to use fresh 3M. Since it's the velcro backed one, I'll clean up the sticky side (the part that's supposed to be on the bed) and stick another layer of 3M on it (one inch wide's what I have) and see if that hold.

The BedRug itself can't go anywhere, the six tie downs are also holding it in place.
My droopy BedRug saga continues ... last time I used 33 pound pull magnets and now I'm using 110 pound ones (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GCP8MXW).

They're pretty strong. In one of the pics below, you can see the pair of magnets on top of the TrekStep holding the pair under in place. The TrekStep is 100% aluminum, so that's just the force holding them.

Theoretically, I could suspend myself by two of these magnets (and don't let then pinch your fingers, that would be intense).

Anyway, a lazy solution that I'll eventually use some of my gobs of 3M double-sided tape to fix.

Plus, I installed the additional clamps that @RedDakooter05 told me about. My tonneau rails aren't going anywhere easily (plus if they did fall off, they'd get sucked to those magnets!). =D

Where did you get the additional clamps? I don't trust the clams with my Leer tonneau.

Well, I wanted to make sure that Jeff Bezos is able to afford diesel for his 426 foot mega yacht, So I got them at Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09V1SLJ88

There are many other clamp styles, if you need different ones. These happen to be nearly identical to what my tonneau uses.

Let us know how they work out, and I did have to shim all mine for the gap between the plastic rail cap and the bed wall. I used leftover shim stuff from my tonneau replacement, but that was a huge PIA since one side is adhesive.
