Something aint right here. Sorry to be a downer but you should backtrack and get answers. You will get an email from Ford within a week if the dealer used the correct email (I got mine the next day). Also, (to my knowledge) order banks were not open on 8/2. Maybe they intended on submitting it once the banks opened and forgot. In any case, go talk to them - especially if you gave them money. If you didn't place an order until August, I don't think you'll be getting a MY22.

NOTE: unless they know they have one en route and are reserving it for you...?

PS - anyone else on this thread considering looking for a part-time sales job at a Ford dealership specializing in factory orders? Just me lol?

I'm not joking. I could write a book on how to factory order a Ford at this point.

One of the dozen people I spoke to at Ford this summer told me the (lack of a) COVP holds up a lot of orders. Some dealerships just aren't savvy with factory orders.
I have been preaching that since joining these forums.
If one is wondering why someone ordering after them is getting thiers long before, then I would bet the dealership dropped the ball. I can't find it right off again, but it even says on Ford's website to check with your dealership to make sure they did COVP.

How I figured it out was when one of the first dealerships I sent an email to asking for a quote put an order in for me without COVP.
At the time I didn't know about COVP.
I got an email from Ford a day after I sent my request for a quote. I wondered how the dealership made an order in my name without me asking them to. Well, after much research I learned that the order will just sit there and go nowhere until COVP.
About a month later, negotiating with a different dealership, I gave the go ahead to this other dealer. I got my email from Ford the next day. I then emailed my dealer and asked if they also did COVP. He sent the above right over.
A week or so later I got my estimated build date email from Ford.
The original order has went nowhere, and won't without COVP.

You can track the rail car, but you may need to call Ford to get the actual car info.
Yes, you can track your train car if it's CSX (being shipped west of the Mississippi is my understanding).

Ask your sales person for the rail car id - they can get it from the dealer accessed Vehicle Visibility report. It will be a ten character value, four letters and six numbers,

Then call 877-744-7279, and prompt 2, then 1, then 3. Then tell the voice prompt "location" when asked. The car initials are the four letters. The car number is the six numbers.

That will get you the train part.

22, hoping to come in under the wire with a proven platform and a smaller footprint.
Just a head's up, both the 2022 and 2023 model are identical, Generation 5 Rangers in the US.

The new generation, which has a different front end look and bigger dimensions won't be available until at least 2024 and will be called the Gen 6. No downside to a 2023, unless for some reason it cost more (which it shouldn't if you ordered during the 2022 order timeframe... there was cutoff date a month or so ago).

Internationally, what we'd call Gen 6 Rangers are already or becoming available. Australia, as I understand, will get them imminently.

I'm with you though, I don't want the Ranger even 1 inch bigger in any dimension. Will be a squeeze in my garage as is. If I wanted to park outside and bang doors in parking lots more often, I'd have considered an F150. I don't want or need that.

Thanks - safe to say all accessories for 22 models should carry over to 23s then?

@patmulligan99 I'm not sure about that, there might be a thread here on deletions but I don't recall reading about 'new' deletions in this forum. You probably won't get LED bulbs on Lariats, won't get Auto Start/Stop (which no one wants anyway). Frustratingly, you'll only get x4 bed tie downs rather than x6.. they'll sell you a tie down for $70, which is grand larceny.

I went XLT. It does drive me bonkers in 2023 for a $40,000 truck we’re stilldealing with halogens.

hey Lost. I ordered mine (2023) got an email from Ford. The. An email about scheduling for production with a VIN. The tracker says invalid VIN. But is this a good sign? Ford customer service (ford.com) confirmed my order is “processing”

Yeah, the threads get long, but many of us posted a few days ago about that. The more seasoned members here say that tracking tool is very unreliable if even useful at all until your build actually starts.

Yes, 2023 removes Start stop. They knock off $50 for that. Oh, and no wifi hotspot = $20.
