Time for me to join the support group. I placed an order at a local dealership 8/2 (XLT FX4) but still haven't gotten a confirmation email from Ford. Is this typical? I know it is going to be a 6-8 month wait but figured the order would at least get processed by now.

I'm driving a time bomb F150 with the 5.4 L 3V so hoping a new truck arrives before the engine goes.

My dealer screwed up my email address when placing the order (and apparently it can't be changed once the order is submitted to Ford) so I *never* received any emails from Ford. My suggestion is to talk to your dealer. Once you have the order number and VIN you should be able to track your order yourself.

Call your salesperson and ask if the Customer Order Verification Program for your order was approved and ask if you can get a copy of the approved COVP.
Here is the one my dealer sent me for mine:

To clarify, I contacted the dealer and they replied, "Ford didn't process your order yet, that's why you didn't receive the email. You should get it next month for sure." I guess I'll try to find out about the CVOP.

I was in a similar boat, never got any emails actually from ford. My salesperson reached out to me once the order was accepted/processed and gave me my VIN. I ordered 2/15, got my VIN 6/24, went into production 8/10, was finishing being built 8/18, shipped on 8/20, and now I'm waiting for delivery to the dealership

Something aint right here. Sorry to be a downer but you should backtrack and get answers. You will get an email from Ford within a week if the dealer used the correct email (I got mine the next day). Also, (to my knowledge) order banks were not open on 8/2. Maybe they intended on submitting it once the banks opened and forgot. In any case, go talk to them - especially if you gave them money. If you didn't place an order until August, I don't think you'll be getting a MY22.

NOTE: unless they know they have one en route and are reserving it for you...?

One of the dozen people I spoke to at Ford this summer told me the (lack of a) COVP holds up a lot of orders. Some dealerships just aren't savvy with factory orders.
