Yeah this is possibly a stupid post I realize but I've always wanted a turbocharged vehicle largely for the cool sounds. Well imagine my surprise when I bought my first ever turbo truck here and I cant hear it at all. My dad had a '16 Expedition with a twin turbo 3.5L and those things whistled pretty loudly which I loved.

So, without doing major mods like intercooler pipes and stuff, is there something I can do to possibly hear the turbo a little bit? Just curious.

Thanks.

Charge pipes will give you everything you want! Awesome sounds. Other wise try an intake, but those can cause drivability issues in my experience. Charge pipes are about the same price and you get an awesome power bump in the low end, makes daily driving so much better. Install really isn't that difficult!

I hear it on my 2019 all the time. What’s your build date? I think the turbo whistle was decontented midway through 2021.

Well, if you're of typical Ranger owner demographics...your hearing been long shot so don't worry about it...sometimes ED pills help...

Am I deaf? A little. I'm 42 and I've not yet done much in S mode since I'm under the the first oil change. I can try that though.

If you want to hear your turbo you've gotta go WOT between about 2k-3k rpm. Put your truck in sport mode and shift up into a higher gear, slam the pedal and you'll hear the turbo. Obviously you don't want to lug the engine so I don't recommend doing this below 2k rpm. It seems like above 3k rpm the engine noise is louder than the turbo so you won't hear much if you let the truck pick the gear.
