New VW Amarok released

So they released the new Ranger based VW Amarok.

After looking at the styling, all I can say is... meh..

I don’t hate it. It does remind me of a Chevy Colorado with some Rangeresque styling.

Meh, is about right.

Sure, it’s a nice looking truck but, for me, it’s too much of a mash up of other trucks, much like the Frontier is. Too many Ford and GM stylings to stand out on its own - except for the grille - looks like it came off my Passat.

It reminds me of a Frontier with some of the ugly scraped off.

It has great numbers, but on styling, as KNI says, Meh.

It looks exactly like I figured; a Ranger with an Atlas front facia. Coming from VW to the Ranger, I will say the cheapest VW has a better interior than the Ranger. Better materials, better fit and finish, more solid feeling.

I don't care for the look either. Looks like a cross between a Ridgeline and a Frontier but the sales will dictate if others do like it.

Don’t you just love marketing? VW constantly saying “our new this, our new that” and it’s all just Ford systems and even the 2.3 Cleveland is there! I know companies do this all the time (purchase existing competitors models and rebadge them) but it’s always funny.

Nice truck. I’m not sure if it will even be sold in the NA market, so my interest is indifferent.

I’m just wondering how much longer we’re going to have to wait for the unveiling of the NA Ranger!!! I guess Ford is holdng details close until the GM twins are released?!?!

I actually l don't mind the design except for the roof racks. Hope they are optional....

Best part of watching this was learning that South Africans call their trucks "bakkies". It'll look better without the roof rack and the silly chase rack.
