New VW Amarok released

I have a friend who is big into VWs and he's pretty certain that VW is going to be bringing the Amarok to the states in the next couple years.

I'd put it on my list, certainly if I can get it with a slightly bigger gas tank. that's exactly the size I'd want. also makes me wonder if that tank could be obtained and be compatible with our rangers.

Looks exactly like the new Ranger to me. I think car design is going the way of architecture, everything is done to ensure the minimum investment returns the maximum profit, hence you get this visual homogeneity, whether it's a truck, a mall, or an apartment block.

Best part of watching this was learning that South Africans call their trucks "bakkies". It'll look better without the roof rack and the silly chase rack.

I actually l don't mind the design except for the roof racks. Hope they are optional....

That is a very international thing, international rangers have em too if it comes to usa (doubtful) I would bet money it wont have them or those stupid rails on the bed

It looks exactly like I figured; a Ranger with an Atlas front facia. Coming from VW to the Ranger, I will say the cheapest VW has a better interior than the Ranger. Better materials, better fit and finish, more solid feeling.

Not from my experience, my dad had a vw once, that suckers interior fell apart within a year despite him babying it, hell the buttons peeled the leather ripped the cupholders broke it was a piece of trash just like every other german car. Our ranger interiors arent glamorous but at least the buttons dont disintegrate and I am going to neglect mentioning the parking brake boot lol.

In all seriousness, the interior isnt terrible but the outside is nothing to write home about.

Might be issue with the Mexico factory. The german one (a Touran) which I used to have is still with the inlaws and is still in good condition even after long years and 280,000 miles.
