Tow Hitch Receiver Question

So got my 2022 Ranger by order with the tow package - truck has the receiver behind the bumper but doesn't this also come with the tow ball mounting bar as well or do I need to purchase that separately?

what the.... where's the receiver? tow package should come with the 2" receiver from the factory. i'd bring this to your dealer.

No hitch there, just the bracket for the safety chains and the plastic plug for a bumper ball.
Tow package would include a full class 3/4 two inch receiver and a 7/4 pin outlet located in the bumper next to license plate.
Even the bumper is different on the tow package.

Thanks all, I was very curious about this and yeah it's on the invoice.

Guess I'll have it dealt with on Friday when I go to have step bars and tint.

Is it on the window sticker? I'm curious whether this was a mistake by the factory or the dealer.

FYI all the components of the tow package (the receiver and the 7-pin connector) can be added by the dealer, so this should be pretty easy to resolve once the dealer admits a mistake has been made.

also looks like you have the 4 pin wire connector underneath the bumper as apposed to built in per Grumpaw's picture (the lift tabs to the left of the license plate).

You don't have the tow package on that truck. Also note you have the 4-pin trailer connection under the bumper, instead of next to the license plate (where it should be, along with a 7-pin on tow package equipped trucks)

I wouldn't be getting any other add-ons until the tow package issue is addressed.

Pretty sure it was supposed to come with everything installed. Doh!

I'd check the vin number vs the vin you ordered and make sure the dealer didn't give you the wrong truck by mistake. We had that happen at work with one of our fleet trucks we got a call like a week after we picked it up when they realized they gave us the wrong truck.

I negotiated the tow package as an add on, was on my invoice, and the dealer forgot to order it and install it.

3 parts = Hitch/Harness/plug are ~$400 alone
probably at least 1.5 hours labor
The bumper is the same, the hitch includes the trim pieces that but up to the receiver
