Hey everyone!
Is this normal or acceptable to have the black rubber material overlap and be on the filter material?

K&N VF2052 Cabin Air Filter.

Thanks!

I would exchange it.

Looks messed up to me.

Normal? I doubt it's intended, but it's going to have zero effect on the performance of a cabin filter.

Agreed about performance especially since it's the cabin. At $44 though I'd expect quality to be top notch though. A little disappointing. Appreciate the input!

Looks about right for K&N filter. They sent me filter with loose shards of metal lodged between pleats so inspect it well before installing. Got a spare unused K&N here if somebody wants it in good shape. Have been using the stock filter instead

I was going to get that same filter above, but really like the idea of a re-useable one and cleaning it whenever you want. Now I'm flip flopping and thinking about just returning it though.

Return it and go with that Amazon filter. You need something that has max filtration as you want that cabin air as filtered as possible since you are breathing that air.
