almost 300000 sold....if even 1% are interested, thats a chunk of coin for revenue.
but i would hazard a guess that maybe 0.0001% might actually spend that kind of money for that kind of added range
Sill, if the profit margin is enough, then they'll make them

Of course, my point is I don't believe the profit margin is enough.

Can always go with one of these 45 gal tanks. Pull it if you need the bed space. Although it doesn't use that much. Put a 12 v fuel pump on and good to go for $749.99 https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200306745_200306745
"Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline,"

Tanks rated for gasoline are quite a bit pricier. Not sure what the difference is.

It is contradictory but it states: Tank is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles.

Guess I can’t read… ?

For sure. I saw the price and thought "that's cheap for a gas tank," then I read the part you quoted and got giddy.

Then I read the part I quoted.

Tricky bastards.

I keep reading posts about sagging rear leaf springs. I wander how they'll handle a weight of a full larger fuel tank.
The larger fuel tank guy better sell upgrade leaf springs as part of his package. LOL

Be no different than carrying a little extra weight in the bed...

A gallon of gas is 6lbs. So we’re not close to the dogs weight with an extra 15 gallons…

The interstate roads are littered with people who were too tired to drive and too stupid to stop. Tired drivers are as bad as drunk drivers. If you are towing, stop more often. KISS

I'm sure the perspective company is aware, but a lot of these threads end up with people saying yes they want to do it, but the second the product actually comes out at 4x the price that everyone had in their minds, there will be crickets.

If this ever comes to market it will be over $2k.

R&D costs money. R&D also requires good, expensive engineers.
Manufacturing development samples, testing samples, then production costs money.

With such a small market, all of that R&D cost and manufacturing cost has to be rolled into the MSRP.

A custom fuel cell would probably be cheaper and easier.

Price is a huge factor with this.

Would I like a larger capacity tank?

Yes.

Would I pay over $1k for a marginal increase in capacity?

Nope.

Would I pay over $1k for a significant increase in capacity?

That enters into the realm of "hmmmm..."
i raise my hand to agree with EVERY word of this. $1000 for just the tank no FSU or that other stuff and I could just swap over originals from my truck and I'm 1000% in. of course 25 gallon minimum

EDIT to add: I upgraded the tank in the hearse from 21 gal to 24 just to get over 250 miles on a tank and that changed EVERYTRHING

If you add an extra 10+ gallons with a theoretical larger tank, is there any major difference on MPG's? Cause I would love this if I can go around 550-600 on a single tank
