I absolutely don't care or need even 1 more HP , its amazing as is ( how it run that damn good anyway?) shifts , lugs and low RPM's are my gripe...
You asked if a tune would take care of the shifts and I said it would. You will get more hp/tq gains which are just a bonus.

In addition to the tow button, lock out gears 8, 9, and 10 for non-highway driving.

Put shifter in drive, press the minus button on the shifter until your dash only shows 7 gears.

You're welcome.

Yeah , ive been playing with that ... Ehh... Maybe ,certain situations... Rather just pull it down in D and not have to do anything else . .. Nothing extra , no buttons to push or unpush ....just D for drive and have that be a normal , proper gear , proper RPM drivability experience.... That SHOULD be the way Ford sent it , not nerfed all to hell just for MPG ratings on the sticker .... Hell , give me a MPG button , a button that I have to turn on , not off , then have it do whatever kind of crazy shift lugzilla starting stopping mpg voodoo that you please....

It’s new - it’s only available on 2020 and later models. It’s a little trinket they threw in to make up for all those missing items I have on my 2019. ?
my 2019 has it im not sure why yours doesnt

Found a button on my console , looks like a little guy with a square hat and glasses , right below that damn auto start button , what dis do ? Well , as it turns out , the square hat and glasses guy is a transmission genius !!! Truck shifts almost PEEFACTLY now ! ... Damn , lug be gone ! And as added bonus , .......wait for it.........

Little more waiting........ Came to first stoplight and was dreading the temporary death of me RPM's and then I saw the little @ thingy on my dash with the line through it !!!! My new best friend (he has a square hat , round glasses) hates the autostoo AA much as I do !... Why nobody here tell me bout that ?

Sounds like something an Aussie would say. I do miss the Lucky country

In your other repetitive whining thread about this feature, “Tow” mode was referenced several times. But you’re really not looking for solutions. Carry on.

I wonder if some one should tell the op about sport mode.
Doubt it'll matter. He'll just say you shouldn't have to shift twice to get better performance.

Never NEVER , not one time complained about performance or how to get there. .... Anybody who wants it to drive like an actual truck , in plain D ... The one for driving , is treated like a damn alien here .... How any actual truck person could defend that , and the need for a silly dipstick is beyond me .... Generation thing most likely... So might as well end it ... Moderator ! Please ban me from this "Love my ranger and everything about it or else " forum.... I can t self terminate , you gots to do it...

I can't wait until he finds out he can shift from drive to reverse to turn on the backup camera while going forward. Maybe that tip is more for advanced users

Haha...Just take a deep breath and go out and enjoy driving your truck. Nothing is perfect but it really is a great truck if you just give it a chance. Life is way too short to sweat the little thing.
