Hey folks,

Noticed a weird button today. I’m the first owner, so shouldn’t be anything after market.

It’s a 2021 Ranger Lariat Tremor.

Any clue what this does? Right next to the hood release. Red and black wire going back into the dash.

I'd be so angry and start yelling as soon they answer.

No I'm kidding. I would be furious.
I'd be furious too especially since they didn't tell him about it. Now if it was installed correctly and didn't look like a 5th grader did it I'd have no problem with it. Of course that depends how much they charged you for it too. My guess...WAY to much! ?

Make sure they properly repair the wiring harness they most likely hacked up to install it. They couldn't even get the switch straight. I'd be worried about cuts and splices.

100% a anti-theft device. Follow the wires under the dash. I bet there is a split off on your OBD2 port. The button you push in an emergency. It has a control module.
This is a MOPAR example I had in my last truck, but it could be installed in any vehicle.
