Do you know how to remove the flip up 12v covers? I just bought that same button and was hoping to remove the cover without breaking it. Thanks

Sorry I don't. I never tried removing them and would probably break it too.

Just to confirm - That the (EJECT) Button is just a Plug that fits into the Power Point Socket - Correct? So, when it's installed the (OE) cover is flipped up just like you had something plugged in? Correct

Basically, this is NOT a replacement for the OE Cover? Correct

Here is a thread covering how to get access to the back side of the Power-Point, there appears to be a (snap-in) attachment for the front (Cover) onto the panel that is sandwiched between the socket and panel.

So, it also appears that by removing the (OE) cover may create an appearance issue for the Power-Point - and it may be easier (as it appears there may be a hinge pin) on the movable cover (plug) if this is (true) just pull the pin. I would have to look closely at mine to verify.

Also, note that Ford does have a special tool to pull the Power-Points without removing the cover, it is just a simple (T) shaped tool that fits into the port and compresses the release tangs to pull the socket assembly forward.

FYI: It is recommended to Pull (BJB) Fuse 10 & 16, they feed those Power Points. Before you start messing with them.

Push it and the truck automatically hooks up to your trailer. Or the nearest unhooked trailer.
