Gas prices are high and going to get higher before everything comes crashing down. I've seen this rodeo before in '08 and it doesn't end well for the economy anyhow.

With that said, the Ranger does pretty good on fuel economy for what it is, a conventional frame based truck. There are people driving around burning a lot more gas then we are in the Ranger and although that 18 gallon tank limits range it sure beats filling up a 36 gallon F-150 tank right now.

Bingo.
That's the main reason I never got a tune, gas costs enough already without spending an extra 70 cents a gallon for 91 or 93.
Upside, I average 20 mpg on every tank in the Ranger which is almost 50% better than the Sport Trac I had before.
Mostly I run E15 88 octane that costs 20 cents less than 87. If I can't get that I run 89 which costs a bit more but the mileage is better so it's a wash compared to 87.

I could always detune and go back to 87 but no fun in that. Additionally would prob take slight MPG hit. Driving the peppy Ranger to work got a bigger ? on my face compared to the boring Sentra but grateful there's at least an option

Did a turnaround trip for work to Orange Country, CA from Vegas, gassed up on the way home outside the city but I have paid this much in Orange County too. Sucks, Glad I dont live in CA anymore. $5.26 for 91....ugg

Here in Toronto, we’re at about $5.25/gal - all U.S. figures for 87 - I’m pretty much the ultimate price-taker - there’s nothing I can do about it, so I don’t sweat it. I’m a bit like Seligman’s dog. ??‍♂ Oh well.

I had been alternating driving my Ranger to work with my Accent. We bought the Ranger mainly for our road trips and didn’t want to rack up mileage going to and from work. I have decided to drive my Ranger and enjoy it while I can until gas gets so high that I no longer can. Thinking of getting a moped. (In addition to my Ranger of course).

That's a great idea....It might be a lot easier to park it straight.:lipssealed:?
