Forgive my ignorance.. So to get this from 12v to a 3-prong outlet you need an inverter (Something like this).

Could one of these handy bed plugs made by @G5RP or @WLFPIR8 have an inverter built inline and then in the bed there is just a 3-prong outlet?

I have done some research on this in the past, but I have yet to find a great solution based on supplies already on the market. I can't find an in line inverter that I can then use to place a 3 prong 110V-120V outlet in that slot in the bed. It is still something that is on my mind though and I would like to do in the future if I can come up with a clean setup. I'll keep you updated.

I am glad I wasn't pulling that thought out of thin air!

This would be neat! You'd need an exterior rated inverter (IP57 or the like) to go somewhere up in the fender area where the factory plug is. If you come up with a solution, you can count me in on buying one.

Hey everyone I've been working on a factory looking 12V 20 amp socket for the bed that doesn't require cutting into the bed or splicing into wires. It also doesn't require any adapters. It uses a heavy duty socket and 14awg well insulated copper wire. It's a super simple install that only requires tightening one stainless steel bolt. The socket housing is also sprayed with truck bed liner. Below is a link to the listing I have on eBay. Check it out and message me if you have any questions. I'm also looking at selling the same setup with I long pigtail so you can run it to the battery or fuse box. Let me know if you are interested.

Look at this on eBay

My outlet just arrived this afternoon. It is supposed to be in the 60s Saturday here in IL, so I am hoping to do the install then. Can't wait to see it installed.

Couple of updates since I don't post here often...

I've got adapter plates that fit the standard 1"x1.25" MOLLE PANEL holes available later this week (see pic). This way you have direct access to the plug/socket since most of the panel systems kinda cover the hole.

ALSO, I will have pre-made 8mm DC cables available. E.G. what you use to charge your Goal Zero Yeti, Jackery, or other battery bank system that uses that standard connector. Those along with pics will be added to the store later this week as well.

And FINALY, I have a bunch of the FEMALE connector kits available. This is the OEM side connector that's mounted to the frame of the truck. So if you want to do your own direct battery wiring, you can get that connector, some wire and a fuse, and DIY it to my current kit.

Instslled my outlet from G5RP today. The hardest (and scariest) part was cutting the hole in my Bedrug bedliner to fit around the outlet. I think it looks pretty good IMHO.

Thanks! I started out just cutting a hole the same dimensions as the opening in the bed side. However, the outlet would not clamp on due to the thickness of the liner. I then cut the opening a little wider all the way around. I stopped cutting at a very snug fit around the outlet.

Great tip! I was going to try to sandwich it but now I know better, thanks to you. =)

I just did my DIY setup for my bed. I used the Wolf Haus harness and a small fuse box. connected the bed lights and a small power inverter to the fuse box already and have some connections available if I need to add some stuff later...

More inventory and the new items are in stock now. I've got a limited amount of the 8MM battery bank cables since it's a trial run. (Link in signature)
