Tom Woods Driveshaft

Just installed the Tom Woods one piece drive shaft and man did it make a huge difference. No more vibrations, and it helped tremendously starting from a dead stop. It has 1350 u-joints and a aluminum spacer plate to mate up to the transfer case.

Wow! That looks awesome! And expensive! I only have a slight vibration at take off….but it’s really annoying!

No dust boot for the slip yoke? The splines look exposed on the install pic - you can see the blue teflon coating.

It is a simple bolt-in part. The slip yoke has the blue Teflon paint and grease to keep dirt and debris out. I’ve been using Tom woods and Adam’s driveshafts for years and I’ve never had a problem with them.

Nice upgrade. I had Adams (front & rear) on my JKU. Tom Woods was always a popular pick in the Jeep community.

Is that what they told you? How does grease on a sliding joint keep dirt out? What keeps the grease in? If anything, a greasy yoke would just hold on to dirt.

The yoke doesn’t get covered in grease, it’s just the splines. This style obviously works because all Tom Woods drive shafts and Adam’s are like this, even JE Reel drive shafts don’t have dust boots on them.

So why did ford do a two piece instead of a one piece, seems like a one piece would be cheaper.
