Dear Lord that should be illegal!!:puke:

This is the front bumper I'm currently looking at getting. I like the design and it's not so "in your face" as the one you posted Dennis.

I'm assuming your new JL has the plastic bumpers. Have you considered picking up a stock take off metal front bumper from someone local that is selling theirs? I've been running my stock metal bumpers on my JLUR for four years with a winch and some BajaDesigns lights, and I have been happy with it. The steel rear isn't all that great, flexes more than I would like. With the stock metal front, it has the side extensions you can take off when you want as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, I went back and forth getting these when ordering. I didn't think they were worth the extra money from the factory and I'm personally not a big fan of either stock front bumper at all. There's so many aftermarket ones out there so I'm sure I'll come across one I like (that's not $2K) at some point. I'm also looking at different fenders so the two need to look good together. It never ends. lol

You are so right that it never ends. I got the Jeep to a point where it met my trail and camping goals for here in New England, but now that I have a Ranger on order, some spending is about to start back up again. At least things like the awning, roof tent, fridge, air compressor, and recovery gear will move right over to the Ranger. I have more relaxed goals trail wise for the truck, and look forward to driving something that is better day to day and on long road trips than a Jeep on 35's and a 3" lift.

I love my Ranger on long road trips. In 2020 we went to UT then to Las Vegas and back to AZ, it was around a 1,200 miles and the Ranger was super comfortable. When I had my 2016 Tacoma it was so uncomfortable to drive long distances I rented a car when we went to CO.

We're planning a longer trip for early summer leaving here and going through CO to SD. Going to see Mount Rushmore and Badlands then over to WY and still deciding (time permitting) on going up to Glacier NP. I'd like to take the Jeep but I think for that long a trip it might not be as comfortable as the Ranger so I'll have to see once I get it and put some miles on it here.

After 3 days of bugging them for pictures here's what they sent. Not the best but at least I know it's really there. It looks like a Matchbox car in the pics. lol :giggle: That should be the one and only time it ever sees snow!?

In stock form the Jeep was much better on the road compared to lifted, but even stock will always be louder and wonder a bit compared to IFS and a permanent roof. My son and I drove it from MA to CO and UT in 2020 for camping and wheeling and boy was that highway drive a handful. 6 speed manual, overloaded Jeep with a tent up top. We will do that drive again to CO for more exploring this summer and look forward to doing it in the Ranger. I think you will really enjoy your JL, and the 2 doors are so capable on 33’s. Someday I’ll go back to the two door for the fun vehicle.

I'd really like to take the Jeep because there will be a lot of good places to off road along the way. I really wanted the new Extreme Recon Package but you can only get it in the 4dr. It was almost $8K more and I didn't want to spend that much.

What area of MA are you from? I grew up in WMA and lived there for 51 years before moving out there.

And @AzScorpion , remember my warning about getting a Grumper

And for those who don't know, Angry Bird grilles are like Kate Bekinsale compared to a Grumper.
