I need to get caught up in this thread. I’m behind by about a week, but around the point I left off folks were ordering 3/4” plugs to fill the holes along the bottom of the rocker panels/pinch seams.

So of course, I jumped all over the 24-pack on Amazon.

They arrived yesterday.

The punchline here is that my 2021 doesn’t have the offending holes that beg to be plugged.

Lol, you’d think I’d have taken the 12 seconds required to actually check this out before placing the order….but no; I just jumped in and ran with the rest of the herd.

When they say it’s easy to spend money while hangin’ around here, they ain’t lying. I think I may have just set some kind of record.

The really sad thing is that I now have to drill a bunch of 3/4” holes all over my truck to get these to fit. What an absolute PITA.

Bahahaha. Hopefully it’s obvious that I’m kidding.

I mean, drilling would be waaaay too much work. I’m just gonna superglue them into place. ?
Wait...what???

That's strange how yours doesn't even have the holes. Makes me wonder why they were there in the first place?

I think this might be a first Matt. Someone so happy to spend money they forgot to check to see if they actually needed this mod. lol I know we said we were happy to help others spend money but ya gotta look to see if you really need it first. :giggle:

So....because I am old and sometimes VERY gullible...you REALLY don't have those holes under your doors near the pinch welds???
I have 10 on each side of my '21.
Big-ass holes.
Unplugged.
Naked (well, not now they aren't).
But yeah. Holes!

I don't love any of the grills available, but wanted the C lights. Even the RTR, is just okay IMO, but the blacked out C lights make it my favorite.

I did give your aftermarket allot of thought, but I'd have to tint the C lights, and even then they may stand out when not on. Combine that with the other major difference, as seen int he photo and it was a easy choice for me. :)

Upper rail for the tail gate, chopped through the original with a circular saw. :explode::oops: One of the quickest fixs yet, rip off the old and pop on the new. Makes me want to get the other rails replaced.

Wow Matthew, you got off easy - that could have been a lot worse.

As a renovation contractor, I often use my tailgate as a sawhorse for those quick one-off cuts. However, this could have been avoided. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not questioning your skills.

Clearly, you’ve lost so much muscle mass due to the tailgate damper, you can’t keep a power saw from getting away on you.

Nope. Not unless I’m looking at the wrong area entirely, which for me is a distinct possibility (I’m old too). My 2014 Wrangler Sahara had them, which is probably what I was remembering when I placed the order. Mine are stamped but not punched out, if I recall correctly. I’ll take a pic a bit later once I’m up and moving about.

If their stamped but not punched out, then it is obviously a factory defect and should be taken care of under the bumper to bumper, rocker to rocker warranty.
Take it to your dealer and demand that they punch out the offending metal and give you your holes !!! :like:

Ok, because I believe in complete transparency even if it makes me look like an absolute doofus…….

It appears I too have the offending holes.

Now, I could make a long-winded yet convincing argument in my own defense, citing examples from my 2014 Wrangler….but I’m just gonna roll with the “I’m an idiot” confession and save us all a bunch of time.

On the plus side, now I look like a frikkin’ savant for ordering the solution to a problem before I even knew the problem needed a solution.

Geez I’m brilliant.

On a serious note, I thought the holes were in the vertical pinch plate (?) just below the rocker panel. That’s where they were in the Jeep. I really don’t bend well enough to get a good view of the underside of the rockers. Can I assume that by now we’re all fairly certain these don’t serve as weep holes or something? I believe they do serve as an attachment point for my AMP PowerStep lights, so perhaps they’re intended for board/step lighting upgrades?

Apologies for derailing this thread. Not the first time I’ve steered the train way off the proverbial tracks……and I’m fairly certain it won’t be the last.

Did I mention I’m kinda old and take meds…..so have some patience with me. Thanks.

Also worth pointing out, mine wasn't broken and leaking condensation when it arrived. I didn't have to seal it after it arrived, or wait for a replacement.
Yeah but now I have spare parts all part of my master plan I win you lose /thread

You're a genius! :like: :D

No worries and thanks for clarifying this. I thought it was strange for Ford to all of a sudden delete these holes but anything is possible.

I'm older and don't take any meds and still mess up all the time!
